Man, that 24 hr fitness run must’ve been epic. 5 on 5, shirts vs “no meniscii” ;)
24 hr. fitness run? All we had was an 11 mile forced march on a hot hot hot day with one canteen of water which I saved until about half way through our drill corporal took it away from me and poured over his head. Lord, was I pissed.

Nate broke the story of oden playing at 24 hr fitness after his micro fracture surgery. The joke is that they both had knee problems and were killing wannabe ballers.

When I was 19, I snapped a wheel off a Duece & 1/2! One of my more proud moments while serving my country.
We had a lot of those over in Vietnam. But I stuck to our jeep. We hauled a trailer behind it, usually filled with material we stole from the Air Force so we could build our major a command bunker capable of withstanding a direct hit from a 122 mm rocket. Lots of rocket attacks over there. Probably had 4 or 5 rocket attacks per week.

Didn't have them when I was in the Army.
Also, nearly every kid I knew had a learner's permit when they turned 15. I was late when I got mine at 16. Had my driver's license at 17. You must have been at least 17 when you went in the Navy, weren't you?
By the way, I tried to join the Air Force, the Navy, the reserves, the National Guard, even the Coast Guard but they were all full up. So I got to be a ground pounder with an M14, same rifle as the Marines used.
Yeah, I was 17 when I joined (16 when I left the house) and family didn’t have the disposable income for a 16yo to get insurance and a beater. I didn’t need a car in the first sememster at college or in the USMC

Now I recall it.

I never owned a car until I was 21 and bought a brand new Volvo with money my grandmother gave me from a savings account that she claimed I started when I was a tiny tot. I then got a job after getting out of the Army and made payments until it was paid. That was a task because my job paid very little.
Funny how life can deal you a really bad hand but you save and save and now I have a comfortable life in a wonderful home. My advice is study, study, study and when you get your job, contribute the maximum to your retirement.

I was the 1977 Ft Lewis Chess champion. I did all my fighting on the board!:crystalball:

obviously im not from the USA but I respect anyone anywhere who served for their country at any time n put their shit on the line to protect what those who went before us also fought to protect.

Served 5 years as an USAF Security Policeman.

Thank you all for serving. I wish your country had served you better by sending you only to wars that actually benefited America and the world.
