Fifth starter?

I don't keep track of those metrics. I still don't even see where personally insulted you. I try to treat everyone the same and over many years, only a very select few seem to get upset by it; which might explain why I was surprised. I apologized, genuinely, in hopes we could move this thread back to basketball (and Ant starting).

To be fair, I'm unlikely to change my posting style, so if you feel its best to block me, I would understand.
Your posting style is why you're one of my favorites. Don't ever change, my dude.

Grant , to me, is the one guy who has to prove himself.
I'm worried that Grant is going to get star treatment and be allowed to play at a less-than-100% effort that is expected of a role player.
Chauncey needs be able to sit his ass down if that's what's needed.

I totally understand your concern with Grant and I think it's valid.

I may be reading into what you said incorrectly, but if you're implying that benching Grant to get through to him is a good play, I disagree. I think that style of coaching is not optimal. I know it used to work (still does with some vet coaches), but I feel addressing things behind the scenes, explaining why things need to change, and if they don't, there will be a slow reduction in said players role is a far better way of handling it. The call your guys out to the media, put them in timeout, or talking down to them archaic.

My bigger concern with Grant is that we've pomised him a significantly over-market deal like we seemed to have done with Nurk and Ant. You can only have so many guys getting paid over market value and still be able to build a winner.

If I may......
While I somewhat disagree (not much, just a little) that Anfernee (don't call him 'Ant') will be the starter, 'no matter what', I found nothing even remotely
offensive with your posts, content, or style.
It seems to me, STOMP was looking for a fight, starting off with his "Good grief" lecture of you.

You tend to be the devils advocate around here quite often, but it doesn’t bother me. You never once have made it personal. I respect that……. Even if you’re wrong :devilwink:

His momma call him Ant, so I'mma call him Ant.
I know, it's out there, it is the nickname, but I never use it.
My problem.
If it was "Anf", then, yeah..
FWIW, I always address him as 'Anfernee', I sense he appreciates that.

I think Walker or Winslow should start cuz they are good complementary players to the other starters. We need Hart and Nas to anchor the bench.

I like the idea of Winslow guarding Lebron or Kawhi, etc....he doesn't need to score with the other 4 starters needing shots..he needs to be a dog...rebound..double team..I like the idea the more I think about it...Grant can space the floor...

Chauncey is not going to start Walker. Winslow will come off the bench as will Nas. Watch Hart will start at the 3.

Winslow starting, Hart/Nas first off the bench for Ant/Justise, Watford first big off the bench for Grant or Nurk, then Sharpe in for the other (sliding Nas/TW up to 4/5). Ant back in for Dame to start the 2nd, run with an Ant/Hart/Sharpe/Nas/Watford "2nd unit" before bringing the starters back in. I can get behind all those prospective lineups.

the spacing with winslow/grant/nurk is gonna be a bit tricky

True enough. Ball movement amongst a lineup of 5 capable passers feels like it should be able to mitigate that though.
