Why do people...

Why do some people spell the words "favorite" and "color" like "favourite" and "colour." I see it ALL the time, especially on BBW and CelticsBlog. Is this like the center/centre thing, where some countries spell it differently?

ColourFavouriteMetreCentreThe letter Z is pronounced 'Zed'Even thought it's frowned upon in Canada to say it American to spell things without the u and with a 'er' and pronounce Z as 'Zee', I still do it.

I've always done it the "British way" even though I'm American. I don't know why, just have since I was little.
