you don't have an argument then because nowhere on earth are fifty thousand students having free throw practice in a single school gym...I grew up outside a town of 75 people...county had 3000, good schools...graduating class of 18...we weren't overcrowded but sure as hell didn't have a shooting coach...we had hoops on barns to figure it out. Plenty of great achievers come from poor inner city backgrounds but just like winning in sports...you have to want it more than the competition. The key to preventing bad habits in math or basketball is simple....you ask questions, you read and apply it....I read books by basketball coaches before I tried my hand at coaching....didn't go to a coaching school. My argument is that 50000 kids can't learn to shoot free throws in one gym with one shooting instructor.
This is a really good analogy that might help white people get it. Thanks.
A kid that doesn't get taught to shoot free throws might become ok on his own, but he might pick up bad habits that a teacher could have prevented.
He's behind from the beginning and people expect them to go Nike and Just Do It.
