Interesting read.

As many of you already know, I'm one of those who twice voted for Trump. However, I would not vote for him again. I wonder how many more like me are out there? Moreover, who to vote for in 2024? It's still early, but it's not that early. DeSantis is catching the eye of even the Left.

......Trump remains more popular among the shrinking Republican base than anyone else. So in publications including National Review, The Dispatch, and TheBulwark, anti-Trump conservatives are now debating what to do. They all view the 45th president as an unacceptable leader, deplore the Trumpist turn in the GOP, and lament the dearth of promising strategies for reversing it. Alongside the options they’re considering, I’d add one more: uniting behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the GOP rising star who can boast both conventional political achievements and credibility on the Trumpist right......

If you're a never-Trumper, you should be a never-DeSantis. He's just a Trump wannabe without the clown makeup. Just as with Trump, it's all about him: everything he does is motivated by furthering his interests, not the people he's supposedly representing. Unless your only reason for opposing Trump is the clown makeup and combover.

Here's the thing...the DNC has won 7 out of the last 8 elections (popular vote wise). And it's pretty agreeable that a big reason why Hillary lost the ECV is because she ran such a shitty campaign.

Run a decent campaign and they should be able to beat Traffic Cone of Treason or Death Santa.

The country is turning more moderate/progressive than the other choice. It's just that the other choice is loud and obnoxious, and is refusing to accept that their way isn't as popular or going to be in charge much longer.

The vast majority of the GOP cannot be trusted to uphold democracy and protect constitutional and civil rights. the few that do have been blacklisted by republican leadership. No one should trust the GOP to uphold truth accountability and justice. The GOP would like to turn the US into pre Mandela South Africa. Fuck DeSantis Don’t waste your vote on him

His Jan 6th caper was the capper for me.

I actually find Trump slightly less evil than DeSantis.
Trump does awful things because that's his nature, he doesn't have any ability to think of anyone besides himself.
DeSantis understands that awful things are awful things, knows people will be hurt, but does them anyway if he thinks there is even a tiny benefit to himself.

More on DeSantis

DeathSanris has focused almost entirely on stopping Covid prevention and keeping schools from teaching anything that might make white people uncomfortable.
But I guess Larry Elder and Herschel Walker didn't pan out.

I had related earlier. He had already been wearing thin with me. Jan 6th was the clincher.
Well that’s good. Too bad 90% of the rest of your party would gladly vote for him again. What does that say about them?

90% is an overly exaggerated figure, IMO.

Mark my words, if DeSantis runs, he won't kowtow to the Trump belittlings. There are definitely gonna be some grab-your-popcorn moments.

If he was the candidate for President in 2024?? 90% might be low. Not high.

DeSantis is not catching the eye of the Left which implies that he is catching the attention of most on the Left and this is false. I can see this guy is an acolyte of Trump and twisted.

I'm offering you 2:1 odds on a bet that DeathSentence will not run if Trump runs again. $100 if you win, $50 if I win.

No thanks. I already owe @Lanny a steak dinner for my last political bet in here involving Trump. LOL

Moreover, I don't trust Trump's tactics anymore, so you may end up being right, anyway.

What would happen if Joe Biden runs in '24? I can't see him or Harris in there. We need fresh directions in politics.
It's gonna be a shit show. Regardless. We used Trump as an excuse to vote in Joe freaking Biden...

Honestly.

Trump was a disgrace. But aside from our voting him out and overcoming his insurrection attempt our response has been a disgrace.

I think you mean "typical of the spineless democrats who work for the same rich people that the republicans do".

I knew they weren't going to do jack shit about what he did.
