Why the Blazers may stay healthy this season

Keep the threads coming, it was a good OP. I really like the hires too and the rhetoric the team is talking about. I always had trouble respecting a training staff with an out of shape trainer leading it. Staying fit is pretty damn simple and if you struggle with such a tiny easy aspect of fitness I can't imagine you are competent to manage some of the highest performance athletes on the planet.

I don't believe in any Jinx, but if there are some I hope the Lakers get them. They are due for a few decades of it.

I don't believe in magic either but Andre miller through Blake griffin to the floor 100% of the time I had 2 pitchers of miller light by halftime. It makes sense. Miller/miller

I think it's a simple solution, if anyone gets hurt at today's game, Bluedoggy is banned forever.

I don't believe in curses or jinxes. Good points. As someone who has had more than my share of badly treated injuries, I agree that initial treatment and above all prevention makes all the difference.

Nagging injuries are almost unavoidable over a long season without enough rest; the trick is to keep them at the minor ache level and not career enders. Sometimes you need luck (Oden being sorely lacking in that department).

Another point is that with a better bench, starters won't be playing 40+ minutes a game day after day.

I do believe I stated I don't believe in MAGIC and jinxes. I don't believe in burying my head in the sand either. Does that make me less of a Blazers fan too? What logical fallacy do I need to subscribe to then, to be considered a fan?
Just a joke, Blue. Welcome to the Board. :)

THIS IS WHY ROOKIES SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO START THREADS!!!

Who posts this kind of fucking thing 12 games into a season? I call DixPix coming soon.

For one thing not nearly enough time has passed to determine if the team's new strength and conditioning program is having any effect on injuries whatsoever, so you can go ahead and drop "science" from your little picture and add "speculation."

As I pointed out in the OP, I am speculating, as I stated it is early in the season. Just like everything we post about here from chemistry to records and how good the team really is, it's obviously all speculation. However, the post is very much about the science behind strength and conditioning and how a more modern and scientific approach MAY be having an effect on early season success. To say that the strength and condition program has no effect on how the team has played and it's early success with injury prevention is ignorant of the obvious, and shows a shortsighted understanding of how professional athletes function.

I find it humorous that on a basketball discussion board, so many people would rather be ignorant to the reality of the sport, and would rather cry about made up jinx and curse. It's akin to getting upset about discussion of climate science or economic issues because if we don't talk about it, things will get better on their own.

So yes, since reading comprehension is in short supply today, it is speculation... About the potential effects of a science. :beatinto:

I don't give a shit about jinxes and curses.

My point is that it's far too early to even bring this up. If the Blazers magically have a near injury free season then it's maybe worth looking at, but right now this article and speculation is beyond premature.

Okay true, but his meme was really funny and I rep'd it.
