Take with a grain of salt given the source
Here's a trade that kinda makes sense for all 4:

I know Nash said they're not trading Harden now, but if Harden let them know he's leaving at the end of the season, then I think they'd jump at this haul, especially as Simmons would be a pretty much perfect fit in Brooklyn.
Also (according to the Bill Simmons podcast I listened to - not an experience I recommend) the Nets want shooting help, in part because Joe Harris's situation is so uncertain, and could use Fournier.
Knicks get CJ, whom they're supposed to want. We avoid getting their terrible contracts and actually shave $12M off our cap, making the real decision makers very happy. I doubt this trade makes anyone on this board happy, but having seen CJ's negative effect on the team since he came back, think of it as addition by subtraction.
Here is one of the reasons the the Blazers are listening to what the Knicks and the Pelicans have to offer. BOTH teams currently each have 24 draft picks between now and 2028,
rumors I've seen is that they may have "interest"That's the rumor. If it's true, use it
gotta feeling we ain't gonna get much for CJ just like the other trade, I think Randle will look good for what we end up getting assuming he is moved, just take and hope I am very wrong!I swear if they trade for Julius Fucking Randle I'm getting camo and zip ties and heading for Moda.

If we trade this week it won't be until Thursday for the deal would be complete. Because right now the Blazers are trying to get the best package for CJ.
Hot Damn.
Technically we don’t have any 1st rounders to offer until The one we traded is used which at latest could be 2030. That means we can’t offer 1st with any deal until that one is used. Really ties our hands on any kind of deal we could offer. Good thing we didn’t at least get a 1st rounder in clips tradeSeriously. Knick/Pelicans both have 24 picks between now and 2028. By contrast, we have a grand total of......11.
randle was one of the best defensive bigs in the league last year, but nearly every metric. but yes, he has to be engaged to get that effort on that end.
That's the hope for Reddish.I'd still GREATLY prefer someone who is elite at defending the perimeter.
Maybe Houston would like some of those picks? It looks like they only have a net of about plus three picks over those years. I would much rather have Wood than Randle. The problem is that New York has no expiring contracts to send to Houston. Which is why I would rather deal with New Orleans. Here is one of the reasons the the Blazers are listening to what the Knicks and the Pelicans have to offer. Each? Or they have 12 and we have 11? Not much of a difference?Seriously. Knick/Pelicans both have 24 picks between now and 2028. By contrast, we have a grand total of......11.
(referring to a Knicks package)
Much more likely to get a pick(s) from New Orleans. In fact, from the bits I've heard, the Pels are willing to throw in more picks to be able to keep all the players they want. The problem that creates, it is would take 4-5 players to equal CJ's salary given who they want to keep. Doesn't seem realistic as Portland doesn't have the roster spots. It would have to be a 3-way, or the Blazers would have to send out a 3-1 deal for someone like a Bagley first that wouldn't require much talent going to the Kings, then have room to take back who the Pels are trying to unload albeit with more picks. (possibly 3)

Seems unnaturally high. I dont think it's right. The first post included the word 'each'. Didn't include it in the second mention but yes. both teams EACH have 24 picks between now and 2028.

Some of the picks theyre owed are contingent. Not sure if theyre being counted multiple times in your number
yes. I'm considering Randle + 5-8 mil filler AND Reddish.
Ya that's a weird calculation. Doesnt consider protections or contingencies and most of those are second rounders.Perhaps. Was going by what the FanSpo trade machine had listed. It shows both team having 24 picks. When you click on the dropdown, it details the years and where they come from along with protections.

Do you know how many firsts? They are worth 10x a second rounder so that's a much more useful stat IMO. I feel like NO has way better draft assets with all those Lakers picks but I don't have a list.
They have a bunch from the Davis trade, (Lakers) and some from the Holliday trade. (Bucks). FanSpo is showing 13 1st Rnd picks for the Pels between now and 2028.
