No, he wasn't trying to get under people's skins. It was actually the opposite to an extent--he got so sick of the bickering and trolling about politics (in the lead-up to the 2008 elections) that he picked up all the political threads in the Blazers OT forum and threw them en masse into the site-wide Political Economy forum. He was the hero we didn't know we needed. Then a Lakers community moderator instituted martial law on the Blazers forum and everyone left that site.
