Seriously hope both Dyson Daniels and Shaedon Sharpe are available at 7, for trade value purposes. I just don't see teams trading up for Ben Mathurin or anyone else that could be there.

One of those dudes has to be there.

1. Jabari
2. Chet
3. Paolo
4. Ivey
5. Murray

Those five guys are gonna be gone by the time 6 rolls around. I will completely shocked if Ivey and Murray to drop 6th or 7th.

I'm saying it is good for value if BOTH are there. Because teams will be bidding up to try and nab one of them.

Yeah Grant might be better than Roco, but he will also cost much more salary, so I don't know that he is any more valuable to a team than Roco.

The #7 pick has the chance to provide great on the court play, but at a tiny salary so the Blazers can also add another starter or key backup.
That is something that I don't think I have seen mentioned when comparing a draft pick versus trading the pick for a player.

OK certainly willing to entertain that idea, got any best guesses on the how? Does it involve a trade down idea or adding current POR players?

Both. One of my Draft Party data/cap nerds texted the basics and told me they'd go over it in more detail later. IIRC, we ended up with Duren, Kuzma and Collins. It did cost us the #7, Hart, and some other pieces.

I was going to bring up something along the lines of 7 for Kuz and 10 seems good value. Add in 10 and Hart for Collins and that seems plausible. Need filler like EBEC. Would also explain the interest in Dalen Terry who would be redundant with Hart.

I really think Atl would want Hart as a very good compliment to Trae.

If this is possible, I'd say it's been a great offseason.
With the supposed promise to Sharpe and someone shooting down the trade talk with Grant, I'm starting to worry the 2 statements are linked and it will be Grant for Sharpe+.

Love all the scuttlebutt. keep it coming. I'd hate to lose Hart, period. He's the kind of Dog you need as a 6th man. But Collins, Kuzma, and Jaden Duren would be a pretty nice offseason. Damn good.

I did not hit like on your post but this is the kind of post I need to be reading right now because, I really don't think our front office is terrible enough to trade Sharpe plus something else for Grant. This idea is so terrifying that reality will surely be better.

As for this post, I did hit like on it because I would love this outcome. Sign Nurk to a three year deal with the second and third year as team options. However, I fucking hate this post because it gets me feeling all good and thinking about how bright our future is

we end up with some awful deal or deals. So thank you for making any reality that happens in the next few weeks seem like absolute shit.

I think if you lose Hart you go for guard from Arizona at 10. Defensive minded player who can hit the 3, that kid plays with attitude. I’d be estatic if we could land those 3 players!

I think if you have the 10th pick and you want Dalen Terry you trade back. Take him at 20 and someone else you like at 25.

If you can end up with those 3 that is a good bridge of young guys that fit both Dame and Ant’s time lines. Giving up Hart would be tough and they would need a b/u guard that was more defensive minded.

One thing that I don’t see talked about enough…. Locker room culture. That’s meaningful shit. There’s a point at which you might not hit the home run and win a championship or you recognize you’re too deep into a hole to do so… but you decide to keep a top-notch star vet like Dame to usher in the new crowd of players and teach them how to develop and maintain a proper atmosphere.

I’m not for or against either, I’m just saying I’m staying open to whatever the front office sees as the best path forward. It’s typically still better than anything realistic that the fan base pushes forth.

Winning championships overnight rarely happens, unless you have the assets and balls, like Ainge a decade-plus ago….

I guess we will find out how Cronin plays the game. If it really is Sharpe and the memo got out to the public, he is worse of a GM than I already think he is. No GM worth anything lets it slip out who he is taking especially in our spot. If he legit slip out s a decoy, then I owe him some props.

Dude! Every possible prospect that could possibly happen has been discussed?
Somebody on here in one of the 20 threads about the draft will be saying “See I told ya”. Probably many will be saying it because so many have said some form of every possible way this could unfold?

Not talking discussed by fans. We all do that and it passes time. I am talking guys "in the know" types. If they truly know, then it came from the Blazers and that will not be a good sign for the new regime.
