This whole Castle thing makes me wonder if he MIGHT have a promise and trying to make teams that might take him cross him off the board. The reason I think this is even if Castle wants to play the point I have a hard time thinking any agent worth a damn would allow his client to poison the waters UNLESS it was part of a plan ( say a promise ). If I am right and prolly not BUT let's assume I am who could this promise be coming from ?

Hawks -- Out
Wiz - They need a PG but at 2 is that too high for him -- maybe they trade back a few spots and get more assets since they are rebuilding hardcore -- then this might make sense to scare off teams so they could get him.
Rockets -- Do not need him and they are a more realistic trade out spot but again who would trade up for Castle when it might be cheaper to trade with teams under this spot to get Castle.
Spurs -- This is a spot that I think he could flourish with Wemby and this PG thing might be to scare off Wiz and and Rockets -- but what if he slides past this spot ....
Pistons -- We have no idea what the Pistons are doing and not even sure they do BUT Cade looks to be the future for the Pistons so unless they decide Cade is not the answer ( not likely ) -- NOPE
Hornets -- They gave Ball a big contract then he got injured -- sounds like the Bulls with the other Ball but chances are they are not a spot for him.
Blazers -- You would think that Cronin would NOT do this but you could pair him with Scoot and have a dynamic Duo BUT for this to happen -- Ant would have to be traded ASAP -- not likely but I think could be intriguing and with the team rebuilding Cronin might decide the risk is worth it. -- BUT i still think unlikely

Now the next spot is where I think he is trying to be taken -- SPURS -- this way the Spurs get two great players and a PG to feed Wemby and for him to get to this spot I think you would need to scare off some teams so this is where he is targeting with the comments.

You're like the kid who can't get the new Playstation, so you keep going around trying to kill everyone's enthusiasm about it.

Why are you so invested in trying to convince us? Truly strange behavior for an adult.
Console gaming sucks. Only good console was the original Xbox after the source code was leaked and you could hack it to do whatever you wanted.

Actually, the PS3 was good when you could install Linux on it (this was intended on release). But then Sony removed the capability via patch and it was garbage again.

I hear you can get Linux running with exploits on later versions though... But I was going to go all in with PlayStation when it seemed like they were going to support it.

Too bad.

The Xbox controller is the worst controller ever made and single handedly made the Xbox unplayable. Playstation is so far superior there should be no conversation.

I think the PS4 is one of the greatest consoles. So many great titles. I've been on consoles all my life. Nintendo 64 was also awesome. The one thing I miss was the multiplayer stuff I really got into with the Halo series on XBOX 360. I came in at Halo 3 and Reach. So many great times with friends. After that a new studio took Halo over and turned it to absolute shit.

When you hacked it you could use any controller. But yes, I agree with you. PlayStation controller is way better.

Risacher keeps climbing up the boards with these weekly performances in the playoffs

This shouldn’t stop us from drafting him if he is there.

Risacher will be gone, but I would Castle ahead of him despite the size. I would draft Buzelis ahead of Castle, but he seems like he will be gone before #7. Sarr will be gone. I would take the sure thing in Castle over gambling on Salaun at #7. Castle over Williams as well for me.

The Blazers do not have a starting point guard in place that has earned that job for years to come.
Scoot hasn't proven he's even good, let alone an NBA starter.

If Reed is there @ 7, you take him, but I doubt he will be. If they take him they will trade Simons. If Ware is there at 14, I would consider him.

If they go for Sheppard at #7, what are the next moves? Sheppard, Scoot and Malcolm all deserve/need big minutes at the point. I would hope to hell it wouldn't be to start Sheppard next to Scoot while moving Shady to SF.
My vote would be getting whatever they can for Malcolm. Draft Newton in the second round to play with Sheppard (or Scoot) to offset being undersized. It seems almost too obvious to have to write in a post, but they haven't done it up to this point with their backup PG.
People keep saying to trade 1 or 2 of the seconds, but this team needs to take as many swings at guys capable of contributing as possible.
If I had a dollar for every time I've mentioned Newton or Shead recently I would have several dollars.

I’m not really looking at PG sized guys—is Sheppard that good that you’d have to draft him ahead of Castle or Buzelis?

I really don’t like the idea of bringing in another guard. I think we should be in the process of moving some of the guards, not the opposite. I agree, we should just get what we can out of Brogdon. If Brogdon nets a future 1st, great. If not, I hope that attaching him will help us move up at any of our picks to secure who we want.

They trade Malcom, Simons, Grant, and Aquire assets. Let Reed come off the bench first year playing in back court with both, Shae & Scoot.
By using assets to round out 3/4 and adding next years pick, to line up you have filled out a young roster that represents possible climb to the playoffs or young trade assets to further engineer.

Best player/shooter regardless of size.

Why isn’t Houston a foregone conclusion? They could really use someone like him.

My fear if we take Sheppard is that he is going to look better than Scoot right away and either force Scoot to the bench OR play Shae at SF. I’m a big no on both. But I know how it is, Blazers fans will clamor to have Reed replace Scoot in the starting lineup.

If we drafted Reed to play backup guard, I guess I’m fine with it. But I wouldn’t like the fact that we’ve drafted three lotto guards the last three drafts.

He would be a good fit with the Rockets, for sure.
My view is that at 7 we take the best player available to add to our bank of assets and it seems now when we are talking about a complete youth movement would be the perfect time to do so. If Reed, Shae & Scoot all popped within a year or so that gives some trade equity if needed.

The question is if there is a BPA at #7. Is someone like Reed (or any guard or center) that much better than a position-of-need player? (IMO that is a forward) I don't know the answer to that. It needs to be obvious and I am not sure it is.

You’re like the guy who gets a 78 pinto and are continuously trying to get everybody to believe it will handle like a 2024 BMW M5. Why are you so invested in trying to convince everybody that we will land players who will make us better? Now if you have seen the talent level of this years draft….THAT is truly strange.

But please continue.
