If that's true, I think that's a pretty darn good offer; especially since I think NO would demand a second pick also. You can say that Ball and Ingram haven't lived up to where they were picked, but they are still young and look at Russell, in New Jersey he has really thrived, just named to the all-star team.

It’s about the best offer the Lakers can make and it’s a decent bunch of players, I just don’t think it’s the best offer that the Pelicans can/will get. There’s no certain star in the offer and the draft pick(s) will be late ones. Boston can certainly offer more next summer and other teams can as well.

The Pelicans aren’t in any hurry. They will sit Davis and lose big to get a good draft pick. They can take offers next summer and get the best deal to rebuild from as quickly as possible. And there’s the likely extra benefit of screwing AD, his agent, and the Lakers in their little plot to get AD teamed up with LeBron this season. That thought has to warm the hearts of Pelicans management.

Ball is a fucking meme who shouldn't even be in the league, and likely won't be in 2 years or so. Anyone who gives anything up for him, or accepts a trade offer with him involved, is a fucking moron of epic proportions.

Yeah that is a stretch. Ingram does have crazy length so that part is similar.
I will say that Zubac has a lot of potential for his age. He could end up being pretty good.
 
This whole situation is just serving as yet another reminder of how lucky we are to have three really good young players who actually want to be in Portland and play together. We shouldn't take that for granted.

It's not about just pursuing him, he has to outbid 28 teams desperate to get AD (who don't have the ownership questions that we do) and the Pelicans have the ultimate say anyways. We likely just don't have the pieces they're looking for. But regardless of reality, I'm sure Canzano and some delusional fans will think Olshey is just completely incompetent when it doesn't happen.

And without wading through 18 pages of bullshit, has anyone presented an idea in which we would be able to outbid the entire league AND somehow end up a better team than we are currently?

See this is the beauty/disgustingness (just made that word up) of what the Lakers do. A guy like Kyle Kuzma is thought of as a star when if he played on any other team you'd likely rarely hear much about him. Same with Ingram, who I think is massively overrated. As pointed out on here if they make that trade they are basically the Lakers of last year with Jrue Holiday. That is very unlikely to amount to anything other than a low seeded playoff team but for some reason those guys are so hyped up that dumb people seem to buy into it.
 
By just coming out public and basically demand to be traded to the Lakers by stating he won't sign extension any where else. I wouldn't trade at least this summer or they got up to next trading deadline. I get tired hearing these rich players cry about they don't like playing where there at or don't trade me over there on that team cause I don't like there either. I would tell a player you sign the contract live up to it to the contract. On Davis I would come right out till him and his agent I got till next year to trade him.
 
They essentially become pre-LeBron Lakers with Jrue with that trade. It’s not that terrible because they are all young and Pelicans will probably have a top 10 pick of their own this year as well. I could see Lakers being in the lottery too.
 
Knicks and Lakers have been two of the most mismanaged teams over the past 5 years. I'd love to live in NY or LA but to put my legacy and future career in the hands of someone like Magic or Dolan is just asking for trouble.
