Championship quality? We have a couple combo guards in the G league......by next season they may be in game shape for the roster
CJ/Dame is not the problem. We can win title with that back court if we put the right guys around them. People say defense is the problem but our defense has been good this year. Trading CJ gives us a major hole arc SG unless Pat C is ready. People keep saying we should trade CJ for two way SF but PG, Durant, and Kawhi aren't available.
How is Mirotic's defense? We already 2 way stretch PF that can shoot. Aminu off bench? Then where does Collins get minutes?
CJ/Dame is clearly the problem. We have one of the deepest rosters in the NBA.
I agree. We are better when Lillard or McCollum is out, as long as we have Napier. I watched the Jazz for a couple of games before they had injuries, and came running back to the Blazers. I found that other frontcourts are running on fumes compared to our talent. (Olshey did that by overspending, of course.)
Championship quality?
There's none available so a legit stretch 4 is a good acquisition for the right price. No idea? Just saying it's what we need rather than, yet another, stretch 4
We have a deep roster???CJ/Dame is clearly the problem. We have one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. Stop making excuses for them. The good news is it’s an easy problem to fix... they just need to erase their ISO ball mentality and play as a team... or else both are high value tradeable assets. It’s easy to blame to role players, but it’s hard for anyone to perform when they are not involved in the offense... put Dame in one of the bench players roles and he would struggle as well. Dame and CJ control whether we are 8th seed and 1st rd elimination or top 4 with a legit chance... it’s all about dropping their ego and letting the game come naturally within Stotts system.
Orlando isn't gonna trade Gordon to minimally upgrade Fournier. How about.... Fournier/Gordon/Ross for CJ/Leonard/Vonleh?
And then Harkless/Davis/pick for Mirotic?
Dame/Bazz
Turner/Ross
Fournier/Aminu
Gordon/Mirotic
Nurk/Collins
Evan Turner started on a competitive Celtics team that dealt th Warriors one of their 9 losses two seasons ago. And I think Pat could absolutely be in the rotation on Spurs and Warriors. Is Nick Young better than Pat? But no, we're not deep. I agree with that.We have a deep roster???
We're starting Evan Turner, playing Pat Connaughron (Who has been playing well but isn't a rotation piece on a contender).
It's funny how Dame and/or CJ is now the problem for the offense, not defense. Dame distributes well, and with a C that finishes well and more shooters, he'd get 7+ assists per game. Dame doesn't play with an ego at all.
This post isn't based on any fact.. Now we have great role players and it's on our stars?
Not unless we trade 2 stretch 4sThere's none available so a legit stretch 4 is a good acquisition for the right price.
Yeah, in a season that was an abboration for Turner. And the Warriors are trash right? So who cares that he beat them?Evan Turner started on a competitive Celtics team that dealt th Warriors one of their 9 losses two seasons ago. And I think Pat could absolutely be in the rotation on Spurs and Warriors. Is Nick Young better than Pat? But no, we're not deep. I agree with that.
We only have one stretch 4 and he plays great defense and can play the 3.Not unless we trade 2 stretch 4s
Don't share this shit. What a stupid trade idea. Bazemore isn't going to fetch a 1st round pick.http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-nikola-mirotic-tyreke-evans-more?share=other

Atlanta Hawks Receive: C Ed Davis, PF/C Meyers Leonard, 2018 first-round pick (top-16 protected), 2019 second-round pick (via Lakers or Timberwolves)
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: SG/SF Kent Bazemore, PF Luke Babbitt
Pretty much every team hoping to make a splash this season is chasing wings on the trade market, according to Wojnarowski. Among them: the Blazers, who are, somewhat quietly, occupying the Western Conference's No. 5 seed despite Damian Lillardmissing games with calf issues and generally lackluster offensive returns.
Finding switchable three-and-D talents on reasonable contracts is a difficult venture. Not only are they in high demand, but they're also in short supply, because teams that employ Trevor Arizas and Khris Middletons aren't looking to move them.
That leaves the Blazers, among many others, to surf the slightly overpriced market. And that, in turn, leads us to Kent Bazemore, one of the league's few "expendable" wings, per Wojnarowski.
Basketball Insiders' Steve Kyler reported in December the "right combination of ending contracts and a first-round pick, even one highly protected, might be enough" for the Atlanta Hawks to part with Bazemore. This deal should do the trick.
Taking on the remaining three years (including this one) and $31.8 million of Meyers Leonard's deal doesn't spell good times, but his commitment pales in comparison to the $54.3 million Bazemore is owed through 2019-20 (player option). Plus, at 25, Leonard's a better fit for their rebuilding timeline. There might also be something to Leonard-John Collins frontcourt pairings.
Ed Davis wouldn't have a future in Atlanta, but he comes off the books after this summer, so it doesn't matter. Adding another first-round choice to the cupboard would give the Hawks six, including their own, over the next two drafts.
Footing the bill for Bazemore while forking over a pick would sting the Blazers, but they're committed to winning now. He'd diversify their pedestrian offense as a secondary playmaker and spot-up marksman without compromising the defense, and his contract expires at the same time as Maurice Harkless and Evan Turner's deals.
Grabbing Luke Babbitt in the process would be an under-the-radar steal. He's drilling 43.2 percent of his three-point attempts and could hold up as a full-time small-ball 4.
Meyers, Collins, Aminu...even tbough he's a 3, Vonleh to an extent, SwaniganWe only have one stretch 4 and he plays great defense and can play the 3.

Meyers isn't a 4 and doesn't count because he doesn't play, Vonleh isn't a stretch 4 at all, and Collins is much more than that. So we don't need more shooting...?Meyers, Collins, Aminu...even tbough he's a 3, Vonleh to an extent, Swanigan
We need wing help in a desperate wayMeyers isn't a 4 and doesn't count because he doesn't play, Vonleh isn't a stretch 4 at all, and Collins is much more than that. So we don't need more shooting...?
lol Hawks would need to give up a pick to any team willing to take on Bazemore's contract, not the other way around.
why? He's the last guy we should be targeting.
why?
And severely undersized as a 6’5” SF... the last thing this team needs is to get smaller around the McLillard backcourtHighly overpaid for his production and doesn't play much D at all.
Bazemore : ATL :: Turner : PORwhy?
