Strangely silent on the Blazer front regarding workouts.....

I did find one player who is scheduled to come in and workout...Matt Bouldin

But Matt couldn't have performed too badly. His workout schedule is full and there is a list of interested teams wanting to take a look at him. "I saw the Wizards, the Bucks, and the Bulls. I go to Oklahoma City on the 13th, the Lakers on the 14th, and then I go to Portland, San Antonio, and Dallas," he said.

It would be nice to hear who the Blazers are planning to bring in for workouts......
 
With all of the turmoil and uncertainty surrounding the front office, I'm guessing the PR machine is temporarily unplugged. Either that, or they're not working anybody out because they want to be coy and keep things close to the chest ... or really, maybe it boils down to the fact that Kevin Seraphin supposedly has a guarantee from a team in the first round and that team is the Blazers.

Ask and ye shall receive. 95.5 is reporting that the Blazers are having 6 guys coming in for workouts today, including Gani Lawal, Larry Sanders, and Jerome Randle.
 
Teams have gone more toward group workouts with a lot of teams being present this year it seems like.

Jerome Randle, 5-10, Guard, California

Apparently they have workouts scheduled for the rest of the week, anyone have any information on who will be at these other workouts? I am assuming Bouldin will be here for Wed\Thurs.

Wasn't Randle a guy that there has been some speculation POR is interested in? Sanders is another and I think POR worked out (or attempted to) Lawal last year.

As much I like his game too, and I probably don't like it as much as you do, he is scary small.

5'10 with a 6' wingspan...In fact ,according to DraftExpress, his standing reach (7' 4.5") is 2 inches shorter than that off the second smallest player EVER measured and recorded in the last 20 years.

For comparison sake, Jameer Nelson's reach is 7' 11".

That is too bad. He must have got a promise from a team picking much higher than where they envision Portland picking.
 
I like Scottie Reynolds, I think he could be a sleeper.

Actually after reading the scouting report on him, he is the exact type of player who I stay away from. He has holes in his game all over the place, and seems to have had a checkered past, but somehow is a workout wonder.

He'd be good value at #44 but we really don't need anymore SF/PF's. I have full confidence in Dante Cunningham that he's going to play that role long-term.

The Blazers own the No. 22 pick, but are having trouble getting late first round/early second round prospects to workout for them. The reason for this is simple -- Portland's roster is loaded.
"When you look at Portland's roster, if you're a wing player, they've got four or five wings. If you're a big guy, they've got three centers," agent Bill Duffy tells The Columbian. "You have to be a student analyzing the composition of the roster, before you allow your guy to go in there. Because a lot of times team say, 'We're going to draft the best player.' Well, for us, that best player might be the third guy on your depth chart when he gets to your team."
In his recent mock draft, ESPN.com's Chad Ford has the Blazers selecting Hassan Whiteside (Marshall) with the No. 22 pick in the first round.

^^ The above perfectly illustrates for me where KP has fallen down on the job. It's perfectly acceptable to stockpile a lot of talent, but it's not perfectly acceptable to stockpile a lot of young talent with very little difference in age between players. It's gotten better with the addition of Camby and Miller, but they're still overloaded with guys in their early twenties at certain positions (the 2, 3, and 4 in particular).

Is it absolutely necessary to bring guys in for workouts? No. But it underscores the issue with this team that some more moves need to be made to tweak the roster and balance it out, otherwise it's going to be very difficult to keep the pipeline of talent coming into this team and properly develop them.
