Would you do this trade?

  • Yes, I would do that, which is a sign of how disgusted this year has made me

  • Are you completely insane? You don't rebuild by trading your one good player!!!!!!

Yeah, cause Harden's going to be a career 6th man...

Derp!

Is he going to be a franchise player? I just don't see it. Trading an All-NBA big on a decent contract for a smallish SG who is the 3rd-best player on his team, and who will get a big contract from someone, is stupid.

Has Aldridge proven himself as 'franchise player'?

Are you arguing for Harden over LMA in a straight-up trade?

That's what is relevant. You'd trade away LMA for Harden?

Curious. I'll even throw in Ibaka, since that caveat has been added.

What's Harden's PER in the finals?

He hit a few 3s down 20+ in the 4th in Game Five and ended up with 19 points.

Mike Miller raped him on national TV, though, for the first 3 quarters of the game.

The straight-up is laughable. However, if you add Ibaka to it, then it's at least something to think about for a minute. Probably not still since you have to pay both in a couple of years at contract levels near LMA's (each), but talent-wise there's a ceiling for an All-Defensive Team big man and a 3rd-team All-NBA SG. 4 years ago when he was 23, LMA wasn't close to either of those.

Did I miss Harden being an All-NBA SG?

Nope. Do you not think that the 6th man of the year at 22 can have a ceiling of 3rd-team all-nba?

Who is the last 6th Man of the Year to make All-NBA at any point of his career? Manu Ginobli? He's still the 3rd-best player on the Spurs.

You'd really trade LMA for Harden and Ibaka? Harden finally averaged 31 mpg this year after never topping 27 mpg in the previous two seasons.

Is there a more overrated player according to RipcityTwo conventional wisdom in the NBA right now?

Bump.

To be honest, I don't wish this had happened, because I hate Harden's game so much now.

Yeah I'd really hate myself right now as a fan of basketball... it's not like Harden's done great things in Houston... they've been out of the first round once?

I completely agree. I hate that bearded fucker. I couldn't stand to watch him every game.

This I would have considered because we would have been getting back known talent. Much better option than gambling on draft picks. I hate Haden now but I did not hate him then.
