If Cleveland called you right at the start of the draft and offered the 4th for Batum, there would be a filler but thats the basic trade would you do it?

I'd do it if we had a deal in place to move up to #2 and take Williams.

Nah. There are only 2-3 players in this draft that seem intriguing to me.

In a heartbeat. Batum might end up being better than anyone available at 4, but #4 has a a 100% chance of being more than a role player than Batum, since Batum will always be one

I don't think that I'd do it, but it's close.

Batum is still young enough to improve markedly, and the qualities he have give him a high ceiling.

I don't see him ever developing a handle at this point. It will always limit him to a perimeter shooter.

A perimeter shooter who's a really good defender has a lot of value. He's never going to be Scottie Pippen, but that is OK. He can still be a really good player.

For whom is the question. Kanter? meh. Knight? meh-maybe. From a value perspective it seems like a good deal for the Blazers but I would need to know who they are really after to get excited about it.

no, thanks.

Just as LMA has finally come into his own, I believe Batum has a whole other level he hasn't reached yet

Not in a million years. I wouldn't even trade Batum for the best player in the NBA right now because he just has that much potential and will be that much better in the future obv.

KP what are you doing on here?

Don't trade Batum... as sad as it is, he's basically our best player in the clutch now that Roy is Once-A-Week.

I would NOT do it. If I were to trade for the #4 pick and want to keep it, I'd draft young PG (Knight or Walker) and keep Batum and grow with them. So, I'd prefer in that case to trade Wallace.
For me the team is at a crossroads; either go for it now; trade young and future pieces to win now OR.... trade older guys and acquire younger guys and grow them up.

grow with them? oh god shoot me now!!!! LET IT BAKE!!!! Young doesn't win!

... He's not even good in the clutch...

Check out the clutch stats thread from a few weeks ago; he's actually pretty good when you take a holistic look at all clutch stats. Granted, he's not a world beater yet, but he's also steadily improved a lot of key stats every year, dealing with a position that sees him change responsibilities quite a bit each game.

Lets get young guys so they can grow together... UGH! Do the Lakers ever say this? Yes lets get young players and let them grow up for 5 years then watch them leave or get hurt. I guess paul allen plans on living to be 98
