I agree with the premise (swap some bigs for smalls, though I've heard you should NEVER EVER do that)...
But Derozan isn't the small and Leonard may not be the big that should be part of the conversation. If anything, it should be Leonard for Ross...both teams give up a high-upside young prospect on a rookie contract with years of team control left in a position where they have some depth to fill a roster need. I'm not saying I would do that trade, but that's eminently more discussion-worthy than one revolving around Derozan.
Clippers need some bigs, badly. S&T Freeland (even though I know it'd be tough to keep him away from Moscow) and Kaman for Redick could work...they can either run with those two bigs or flip Kaman for a 7.5M player or package. Right now they're stuck b/c they are over the cap (or not enough over to matter) and used up most of their MLE, and many of their contracts aren't trade-friendly (either too large for their key players or too small to aggregate into anything).

He was using our joke we used on his fans on twitterActually, Portland is further north than Toronto

In your maple sugar dreams...we are the north.(thank you Vancouver Grizzlies and Seattle Sonics) we may only hold the title for a short while but I'm milkin' it until the day! Now Curling up in the mining country, you Canucks have us all beat!#WeTheNorthier

They might if they have >2M to spend 2 bigs, including a starting center. Is this meant as a joke? You think the Clippers would trade their starting shooting guard for two backup big men?
Reddick was their best wing player last season.
Now I've thought Freeland could be good for them as well but it would be something such as expiring contracts and a pick or a young player or Jamal Crawfords contract or a sign and traded Austin Rivers or a player on a rookie contract. A contender doesn't trade away their third best veteran player for a lottery teams backups.
Toronto's trying to build him into a 3+D player. So far he hasn't committed himself. Rumours last season suggested he was always the first to leave the practice facility. Constantly inviting people to play 2K with him on Twitter didn't help the perception that he's lazy.I have been thinking about Ross, since it appears that Toronto was down on him this past year. But is he really that much better than Crabbe? Leonard seems a little too much for Ross. Isn't' he basically a stand still 3 point shooter? He has great hops, but does he utilize them in a half court game? He seems one dimensional to me
Well, he is from Portland. We're a little different, you know...Toronto's trying to build him into a 3+D player. So far he hasn't committed himself. Perry Jones III and Steve Novak for a 2020 top 55 protected 2nd.
We take a flyer on PJ3, who had shown flashes with okc but never had consistent role. We can keep Novak to stretch the floor, use him as potential trade bait at the deadline, or just waive him.
OKC saves I believe over 4 million in salary, and then whatever else on the tax.
It's been going on for years now.I think this thread is great proof that Portland fans overvalue their own players
It's too bad Larry Sanders and Epke Udoh are untouchable defensive cornerstones, they sure would look nice right about now.
And to think we could have traded LMA for them 2 years ago.
It's been going on for years now.

FUCK. NO.Would you deal meyers Leonard and cj McCollum for an extended demar derozan?
