Of the teams with winning records, here is a list of all PFs who are scoring more points per game than Aldridge:

Dirk Nowitzki

If he keeps playing like this, and if the Blazers keep winning running the ball through LMA, it would be a shame if he didn't make the All-Star team. Miller needs to stop shooting the damned ball and pass it to LMA. The third quarter, which was "Miller Time", should have cost the team the game, if not for Patty Mills in the 4th quarter.

If Roy is an "ISO" problem, then Miller is even worse of a problem, since he can't shoot the ball and bogs down the offense when he goes into "Miller Time".

He's officially averaging 20 points per game after tonight. Still playing above 38 MPG though, which is more than just about any player in the league.

It would be a travesty if LaMarcus doesn't make the All-Star game. The dude has been carrying our team; I'd feel bad for him if didn't make the cut after all his hard work.

Let's start the campaign now: "LA to L.A."

If it can be hyped enough that Aldridge is averaging 25/10 the past 11 games(basically since Roy's been out) then he has a chance. It will have to continue all the way up until the all-star break, though. With the late start he can't afford any slippage. Team record will play a big factor as well.

Basically if you can show Aldridge stepped up when the season looked lost he has a chance.

I'll also add that Nate will be lobbying hard for LMA to the other coaches as the month goes on. If the Blazers end up in playoff position at the break after losing Roy, it would be a shame if LMA is not rewarded for him elevating his game to an MVP level.

We should come up with something better, for that might be confusing to Laker fans. They'll see that and be convinced the Lakers traded for LaMarcus.

We had gone 3.5 minutes into the third with no one scoring so Miller took a few shots and made them. Miller's fine. He shot 5 of 9 from the field. If your starting PG takes less than 9 shots and his name isn't Rondo, he is a liability. Miller didn't do anything wrong.

If he keeps playing like this, it would be a tragedy if he were left out.

I don't think it's fine when your PG who can't shoot can't get somebody a decent shot. Miller's limitations will only get worse with age. It's time to move on, IMO.

I can't wait for the game against the Knicks this weekend. Amare/Aldridge should be a good battle.

Heh. Close. He needed one more point to get to that 20ppg mark. He's got 719 pts in 36 games.

Yup. And that right after a Bosh/LA matchup.

All-star game or not, he's really been impressive in the last month, he also seems to be wearing the mantle of team leader a little differently than Roy did, not "better" per se, but I think his teammates enjoy playing with him a little bit more.

Click to Vote LA to L.A.

C'mon, everyone. Let's vote for Aldridge. I know there's no chance he gets voted in by the fans, but clicking a few buttons is the least he deserves from us to show our support for his outstanding play of late. :D

Yes, "better," per se. I much prefer LaMarcus' leadership style than, well, I don't think Roy really understood that simply being the teams top scorer does not equal leadership.

It's hard to argue with the results of healthy Roy-led teams. As it is now, the Blazers are barely hanging on to an 8th seed. Plus, Camby last year told Healthy Roy to be more of a leader, so he at least had Marcus' respect.

Gotta' hand it to LMA, for the first time in his career he's stepping up and finishing games. Gotta' love it. Could care less if he makes the All-star team. All I care about is his continued team carrying kinda' play.

Houston's PBP announcer said he should be starting in the All Star Game. Glide (their color guy) didn't disagree.

For the record, we're seeing the player many thought LMA could be. I just can't help but imagine if Roy and Oden were healthy and Aldridge played with this kind of agressiveness. :sigh:

If Roy and Aldridge were healthy I'd feel a lot better about the team as Oden would be rebounding like Camby, probably blocking more shots and scoring like 15ppg on top of it. Roy, well, we already know how good he is.

Well ... he wouldn't. His role would have probably always stayed as a pick and pop player next to those two guys and the ONLY way we would have seen this emergence is if he were traded or those two went down.

Roy had the opportunity to play with a healthy Aldridge. Aldridge hasn't had a good second fiddle so far.

Basically as good as Camby is for this team a healthy Greg is even that much better.

Last time I think about it. I swear.

:sigh:

You don't know that. Roy and Oden playing with Aldridge and LMA being agressive aren't mutually exclusive. Plenty of players have found a new niche playing next to superstars. In fact, the better the team and the deeper they go in the playoffs, the more likely those players are to find their inner beast.

A lot of it has to do with he's just getting better as he reaches his prime. He's still only 25. He's still a year or two away from reaching said prime.
