Wow, McCain Finally Gets A Hit

Newspapers and the media giving their view doesn't help IMO, but of course people believe it, which is not good.

In the debates you get to see the candidates answer the question and debate each other, you cannot get the same in a newspaper.

I suppose it is interesting to see to what extent a candidate will lie or forget some detail in a debate. But as far as "biased" news sources are concerned... That can't be helped. Every News channel is plagued with subjective analysis so I do not see your point.

The debate is a memory and personality contest, while intriguing, a voter could easily decipher a candidate's character/positions from their website, etc.

McCain is getting his ass handed to him on a silver platter.

John's sick old man grin is disturbing.

But seriously though I really don't understand what some of you guys here are seeing in Obama? He's not that special as you guys make him out to be, yes he's a socialist, he's he'll kill our freedoms when he takes office, but other than that he's just a big talker, lying left and right, blinding people eyes.

Thanks for the objective run-down. I think you are the only unbiased source I can rely upon.

"He'll kill our freedoms"

Sounds like a John McCain supporter trying to make Obama out to be like he's Bin Laden. Nice try, but you fail.

John McCain = George W. Bush

Obama's on the right side of the Iraq War, health care, net neutraility, alternative energy, and education. He's on the wrong side of abortion and drug freedom.

It's quite an easy choice to make between the two. If the Republican party comes back, and washes out all these impostors, and have another candidate like George H.W. Bush, or what George W. Bush PROMISED to be (before shitting on his promises), then I may vote Republican in the future. I ain't voting for no neo-cons like McCain.

Of course you're going to say that since you're an Obama supporter.

Hardly. I don't care for either canidate, I wanted Ron Paul to win it all. However, I don't want McCain representing the US, he's an embarrassment.

Obama just killed McCain on that stupid "Joe the plumber" thing.

Why the hell does McCain keep talking about Joe the Plumber? He can't afford to buy the business he worked for (I guess the place he works for is selling their business), so what gives him the right to buy it?

Punish success?

John McCain is apart of the reason why our economy is in the shitter.

McCain voted with bush 90% of the time.

You can't get around that.

McCain is apart of the problem. Obama is apart of the solution.

But like a typical John McCain supporter, let's switch the topic to Mr. Ayers because you can't dispute McCain being in George's pocket.

Its Obama's Redistribution of Wealth (SPREAD THE WEALTH AROUND) which he mentioned to a plumber..mabye name Joe.

Barack Obama's recent blunder -- his admission that his policy is to "spread the wealth" of people like plumbers -- "encapsulates everything Senator Obama believes about economics," Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, said.
"On taxes, on spending, on regulation, on redistribution of wealth, the Obama economic policy can be summed up in two words: Marxism / Socialism.
"Usually, a 'gaffe' is when a politician reveals what he really thinks. This 'gaffe' reveals that Barack Obama's agenda is to re-make America along the lines of socialist countries in Europe, most of which are headed toward collapse. No one is safe, not even people who work hard every day and just want a piece of the American dream. The Senator's attitude is 'Let them eat cake.'"
During an Obama campaign stop in Ohio, a plumber told the Senator: "Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it? ... I've worked hard. I'm a plumber. I work 10-12 hours a day and I'm buying this company and I'm going to continue working that way. I'm getting taxed more and more while fulfilling the American dream."
Obama told the plumber that the higher taxes he would pay would be good for society. "... My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

A cascading taxation system punishes success.

I think he's miserably failing to paint a picture of the average blue collar worker. There is a difference between working in a mall and not being able to afford to shop there (I think that's closer to the analogy he was trying to make), and working for a business and not being able to afford to buy it .

From that same link.

What McCain won't tell you, is Obama also spoke to a woman with a McCain sign in her yard while he was out canvassing. After she spoke with Obama she went out and threw the sign in the garbage and is now supporting Barack Obama. Right on the same street as Joe the Plumber.

Its a real person.

Its a real person.

Right, but he's trying to paint a picture for the masses. Joe plumber is an individual who happens to have a common name, but there are plenty of people in the same situation. He's trying to apply it to all of them.

McCain was supposed to knock this one out of the park just to keep his head above water..

Instead, Obama has owned this debate.

I didn't watch the debates.

Tough question for Obama, forcing him to defend the socialist education system that spends more per student than any in the world with the worst results.

Increase in taxes. "Spreading the wealth".

Provide Zero Capital Gains and Other Tax Relief for Small Businesses and Start Ups: Barack Obama
believes that we need to reduce burdens on small business owners, many of whom are struggling to succeed as
health care and energy costs continue to skyrocket. Barack Obama and Joe Biden will eliminate all capital
gains taxes on small and start-up businesses to encourage innovation and job creation. Obama and Biden will
support small business owners by providing a $500 “Making Work Pay” tax credit to almost every worker in
America. Self-employed small business owners pay both the employee and the employer side of the payroll
tax, and this measure will reduce the burdens of this double taxation.

His answer is to help students with their college loans.

Gimme a break.

the point he's trying to make is that some people who are trying to start up small businesses(which would in turn employ others) are going to be unable to do so with obama's tax policy.

whether that is true or not or the actual extent of it can be debated, but i don't see how people are having trouble seeing his point. interesting enough though(well not really interesting at all), i didn't see obama really have a response to that(other than his comment about helping "joe plumber's" past situation which doesn't address the point at all).

Again, he was talking about increase in taxes above $250k. This plumber, likely as a sole proprietor, will be punished for working harder by higher tax brackets. Obama wants to repeal the Bush tax cuts, which will punish success.

Did we have a problem with the Clinton tax rates during the Clinton years?
