Pick #6: . . . New general manager Neil Olshey has come into Portland saying all the right things about realizing the importance of building slowly with a solid long-term foundation. Drummond presents little risk at this stage of the draft and could be a home run pick with proper patience and development . . .

Pick #11: . . . Both of the top point guard prospects, Lillard and Kendall Marshall, will get extended looks here, but it's Waiters who has reportedly caught the eye of Olshey.

Some guy who does a mock draft thinks Olshey should like Drummond and Waiters? Do tell. I'm sure Olshey likes lots of guys.

It's getting comical how many different players the Blazers are supposedly going to take with their 6th pick. My bet is none of it is coming from Olshey, and all of it is coming from players' agents trying to pump up their guys' values.
 
Olshey doesn't even like confirming who;s in town working out and when

Doubt anyone has a real beat on who he likes.

Actually, he said that Olshey DOES like Drummond and Waiters, not that he "should." He may be wrong, but so what? Everybody is trying to get the inside scoop on these picks, and this guy obviously think he has it. That makes him about equal to everybody else providing mock drafts.

Actually, he never said Olshey likes Drummond. He said Waiters has "caught the eye" of Olshey. Not that he probably knows anyways...but no sense in analyzing the little information we get if we can't read the story correctly.
 
All this means is that we're definitely not taking Drummond or Waiters. ;)

This is what is making this off season so fun for me. No idea how to read Olshey

The same Jonathan Ginovy who relays draft rumors dressed up as facts every year? I don't begrudge him for doing so...that's pretty much his job this time of year

BBert has it right that this info is probably coming from the player's agents who want to keep their client's names out there so it seems like they're hot commodities.
