And seriously, a decision has to be made on Drew who's now batting 149.

All I can say is what I have said - the Yanks believed Drew would rebound with a full ST and put up fairly decent numbers .....with maybe a dozen or so HRs.
And, he could also be an insurance policy (back up) for SS and 2b as they eventually move in one of the kids for 2b - especially if he's stinking up the place.

It'll work itself out...the Yanks will NOT continue to go with Drew if he sucks again.

Either he starts to hit, or he'll lose playing time. Soon.

2 questions,........................WHEN?....and................................WHEN?

Fair enough. At this rate, soon....soon.
Hang in there.....think of it as a "win-win" situation.

Drew either begins to produce very shortly, or he plays (hits) himself out of starting job and we eventually see Pirela or Refsnyder sooner than later, and more Petit until then.

The Yanks won't continue to go with BOTH Gregorius AND Drew hitting poorly.
I believe Drew is the odd man out at this point.

Part of this loss has to fall on Girardi. You put this kid (Whitley) out there with that kind of lineup & expect a win. After the top 2 batters a minor league team could have beaten these guys. The kid deserved a better chance then what Girardi gave him.

A team gack was inevitable after the beantown brooming. The question is will they bounce back and win the series. We'll see what they are made of as a team during this series.

Of course Tom but it didn't have to be. I was always under the assumption that you field the team that gives you the best chance of winning. Tonight's line up was okay if you we're playing a high school school team.

Obviously they felt Tex needed a night off....and they needed hit bat and glove it turned out. They are gonna lose more of these games they should have won, rest assured. Coming up on 20% of the season and we had them pegged for 16-16. We're still in bonus territory.

Yeah the start they've had so far has been a very pleasant surprise.

But Rick, they're spelling him with Petit!

I don't know what Petit has on Girardi but he's not the answer, and certainly not somebody you pinch with in the 9th inning! Get Pirela up here and send Petit down.

...pretty meek line up.

You tell me: "Careful you'll lose your pompoms"..

Then say: "we'll see what they are made of as a team during this series".

So, if they get swept ? or lose 2/3 ?

I've been giving the team credit, and have been more optimistic about this season than some others- and now you say "we'll find out what they're made of " in this series vs the Buejays?

Scratching my head?

I'm in full agreement Bern, replacing Drew with Petit is only a band-aid, we need a f'king bandage.

I'm sure its to the displeasure of NONE!

...that's the thing about it, rick. This -snip- seriously thinks that some of us actually want this team to lose merely because we choose to acknowledge the many question marks.

EDITED: I suggest that if you want him to stop antagonizing you, you not call him names or retaliate...

...lol, Petit is certainly not an upgrade over Drew, is he?...it's like asking someone, "Which would you rather have, a gun to the head or a knife in the back?"

Mgmt was in a position to put together a better team. But a series of disjointed moves put this team in a compromised position.

Knowing that CC and Tanaka were going to by question marks, Nova return a moving target...he let McCarthy walk, and traded away Phelps ( for Eovaldi) and Greene. 3 guys that helped the team maintain some level of dignity in 2014. Sat on the sidelines with Lester, Scherzer and Schields.

We wasn't the team developing a SS? They knew Jeter was getting old and would retire 2013-2015 timeframe. Same goes for 1B/3B/RF.

This organization, and Cashman in particular, operated by the check book. Once the Steinbrats cut off the tap, Cashman was in territory to have to be a real GM...and were seeing him try to learn on the fly. From a failed off season to scape coating the hitting coach....this Team right now is performing beyond expectations and you know this fucking hypocrite is taking responsibility for the good fortune.

...well said, tote.

...when I first heard about the Greene trade, for me, it was a sure sign that the Yanx were definitely gonna sign at least one of "the big 3" FA starters this off season...it never happened, and I still can't believe it.

Nope, wrong again...and I see your personal insults are getting more vile. Lol

I DO believe there are some who think they are the last word when it comes to.....probably everything..... But in this case, the Yankees, ....who have an interest in this team NOT being a First Place Team and/or Playoff team because they need to be vindicated regarding their "sky is falling" predictions on the Yanks.

So please tell, what does your "insight" have to do with the current state of affairs?

Am I supposed to say ? ..."wow, you're so right and It's hopeless"....LMAO

Lol

You're the person who said, "we'll see what this team IS MADE OF", in this current series vs Toronto......you have a credibility issue.

And the bobbleheads roll on.

...I rest my case...the jury is now excused.

Yes indeed.

The jury may be NOW be excused.

And I'm not talking about 4,5,6 bobbleheads who practice group think.

Its a message board, we can't see each other. Its not like if some of our predictions are right & yours are wrong that we're going to toilet paper your front yard.

Bottom line, if the team wins 82-86 games & doesn't make the playoffs we won't be surprised. And if they win 90+ we'll be as happy as pigs in shit. NOBODY here WANTS to see the team fail.

Well that sounds fine with me.
And I'm not going to lose sleep over the difference between the Yanks winning 82 -90 games.....but I haven't ever had a problem telling anyone who cares to listen, how well or bad I think the Yankees will do in a given year.....on a face to face basis.
