RHP - Nathan Eovaldi, (8-2 4.52 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Sonny Gray, (9-3 2.09 ERA)

NOTE: Although Eovaldi is 3-0 over his last 3 starts he has not fared well against the A's, he's 0-1 with a 5.60 ERA in 3 career starts against Oakland.

Lineups to follow......

CF - Gardner
3B - Headley
DH - Rodriquez
1B - Teixeira
C - McCann
RF - Jones
LF - Young
SS - Gregorius
2B - Drew (Joe....seriously?)

Recent sad chapters in Yankee performance against a team they used to wallop.

2013 1-5
2014 2-4
This years: 1-3

On paper pitching favors Oakland this series, lets hope for a reversal on the diamond.

Yanks will be facing a team which can score runs and has excellent SP - 32-31 W-L record, and league best 3.00 ERA.
Their bullpen has been very bad, currently 14th worse in the league,....
(4.35 ERA) and ten games below .500. (6-16) which is the most obvious culprit why this team is in last place.

Yanks need their SP to keep the game close and get to the A's bullpen.
That seems to be the going rate for beating the A's.

The offense had better wake up for this series. I don't know if that's going to happen against Gray but we can always hope.

Your team will win. All they have to do is look at the divisional race standings, check out the O's and use that for bulletin board material

I always enjoy tuning in and seeing all those empty seats behind home plate and behind the dug outs. Announce that sellout though.

...^^^ I noticed that in the last game...pretty pitiful.

It's sad how corporate everything has become. I mean even in their 2009 run the sound and atmosphere of the old stadium couldn't be duplicated. A lot of them are corporate seats so if not given out they go empty for the game.

Just like that it's 1-0 A's before you have a chance to settle in.

1-1 as Mccann bloops one into left with two outs.

Jones comes through with two outs as well. 2-1 Yankees.

I can't believe ownership hasn't noticed that during the telecasts & done something about it. I said it a while ago that they should get seat fillers to fill those seats during games. I mean hell, even if you only threw 20-30 fillers in those seasts, that would make a huge difference.

It fills in but there's still a lot of empties.

Joe WTF? 85 pitches & no one's on base. I just don't get it. I mean I like the kid Shreve but why burn the pen this early?

I don't understand the move of taking Eovaldi out. You let him finish the sixth and let the pen handle the final three if you want. Now a tie friggin game.

I need to hear about that one in his post game presser.

Drew you dumb shit, where the hell are you going?

C'mon Joe put up a pinch hitter for Drew.

OOps to late Drew pops up to the catcher.

It's hard seeing the offense go into a shell for six innings. Maybe they get lucky again with Gardner on.

Tex give me a damn break with that weak ass shit. What a crap loss.

Nice job Tex you piece of dogshit, 0-3 count, all that was needed was a single and you fucking strike out. Top five had two hits tonight, Shreve and Betances shit tying and winning runs. Bean stripped that Oakland team clean and the Yankees pee their pants every time they play them. Oakland has the season series again this year. Sabathia in tomorrow Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

who says A's pen sucks....... well, not when
they pitch against these bitches. A-rod is
sulking. Texshita looks lost. And the lowly
A's look like champs against these whimps.

Now those shit bosoxers are 5 games out.
Real exciting division.....uh.....in whose
damn head? This division is a sham.

Yep, Baltimore on the verge of a loss, Tampa on the verge of being swept in a double header. Toronto wins, and the Bostons hit 3 wins in a row. Could be interesting by all star break, meanwhile the front office does nothing about getting rid of Drew.

Thankfully Ellsbury gets back tomorrow which shifts Headley down and strengthens the lineup. Drew is like a toy that needs to be taken away from Girardi. Brian Roberts wasn't this bad and he was released. Yeah I get the fact that he's automatic with the glove at second but is that worth an automatic out in the lineup every night?
