Unless Greene progresses into a solid # 3 (?) ML starter...and we get to watch him pitch for Detroit in the playoffs.
Of course all is forgiven if Gregorius turns into a nice .270 hitting SS with 10-15 HRs and plays excellent defense. lol
By the way, what has kept him from playing/being a full time SS?
I've been wondering the same all morning long, especially after looking at his stats, and lack of games played on a consistent basis????????
______________________________...because they had more than one young SS.
________________________________I also liked what I saw from the kid. If he really blossoms in Detroit & Didi is hitting in the 230s or 240s, I'm gonna be one really pissed off Yankee fan.

Could be- could also be the Yanks will have more than one SS if Didi continues to be horrible vs LHP.
163 AB, .184/.257/.233,
K 45........ HR 0
Another factor - the numbers and reports point to him being kinda mediocre defensively.
I'm still hoping and slightly expecting him to improve with more playing time or he'll wind up in a platoon with Brendan Ryan.
oops
...well, he'll only be facing LHers about 20-25% of the time...but yeah, I considered the platoon thing with DiDi too. But I'd rather let the kid play every day.
...he's still learning and I hope he'll figure things out, especially since he'll be hitting in a better line up and in a more hitter friendly park most of the time. Plus, like I said, maybe playing every day will actually help him.
...the Yanx coughed up a young pitcher to get him but we won't really be able to grade this trade for another year or so. If Greene continues to impress and if Gregorius struggles badly, yes, it will look like a bad trade. But it could also just as easily go the other way as well.
...we also need to keep in mind that this kid won't be in the #2 spot like Jeter...probably will bat 9th...so he won't have any pressure on him to be an offensive threat.
