Eh. I don't know how much it really helps. I mean, it does give Trob some breathing room to mature without the pressure... but I don't know.

Well Prince probably would do better than Wright for the Blazers.

I say why not? He has championship experience and could be a valuable situational defender. I don't think he'd kill chemistry and we wouldn't miss Wright and Leonard at all.

We're on the same page here. Great minds think alike!!

He adds depth to the bench...

Why does Memphis do this?

What does Memphis have to loose? They aren't going anywhere this season and Prince isn't getting younger. Marc Gasol is pretty much out for the season. Meyers would be a good young big for them. Plus they can offer Wright more playing time, Something that the Blazers can't and wont do. Hell I might even though Victor Claver in.:pimp:

Because Memphis needs more guys in suits.

Regardless what you think of Leonard, I would not give up a center for Prince at this stage in either one of their careers. While Joel has proven to be a good back up, you still need the extra big just in case.

Not that it is a horrendous trade, but I would hold on to Leonard and Wright in case their is an injury and we need to make a quick deal.

Right now I am happy with Nic and Wes handling the 3 spot.

A quick trade? The trade deadline will be here before you know it.

Yeah I knew you would counter with that, and you are right, but I would still hold out until the end. We just don't have enough bigs on the roster.

Nay.

I don't like Prince's $7+ million salary in addition to the salary of the player we would sign to fill the roster spot. It would also leave us with four guys combined at the three and four. The free agent we sign could fill that spot but as much as I am not thrilled with Leonard, I don't think that player would be any kind of an upgrade.

I bet you wouldn't mind it if we got to the finals though.

This is the Blazers Championship window.

He'd have a Walter Davis level of effectiveness for us, no thanks. I'm no Leonard fan but this is classic buy high sell low which is anti-Olshey.

edit: Prince turns 34 in a month which is not super old, but he lost a step 2 or 3 years ago. I could see it if we had chemistry problems as he's a good chemistry guy but we absolutely don't have that problem.

Isn't that what great teams do that are on the brink of a championship a lot of the time?

OK how about Andrei Kirilenko?

A couple of things:
1) I like AK47 but I don't think we could get him.
2) If you want to make up trade scenarios, think about Claver, Barton, Wright, Leonard or Freeland (but not both) and maybe Mo. I don't think these guys have a long term future with the team - not because they're not any good, but I think some of these are poor fits for our system. I view Crabbe and CJ as great fits for our system. Also think about trading for a backup C or possibly SF, that's our greatest need.
3) Love your avatar!

If you're looking at a vet SF I'd look at Ariza before any of these suggestions.
