Well, you're weird, then.
KB is not that good. The owners were partners and had a falling out. Now only one partner runs it. The quality has gone downhill in my opinion.

Yeah, and your point other than the one everyone knows, I'm weird?

The last time I was there was a very excellent experience. That was a couple of years ago, though.

Speaking of lake grove, how about Giant Burger?

went there about three times. It's on one of my two main routes home. Didn't really care for it. It's okay but nothing spectacular. if you'll notice there's never many cars in their parking lot.

Right here my neighborhood we have Killer Burger and Stanich’s……. Both amazing!
You guys ever tried Super Deluxe???? They make a damn good burger!

Killer Burger is good, haven't had it in years but really good for a local chain. Is Stanich's still open? Use to stop by there on our way to Blazer games a couple times a year. Thought I heard it had closed but hope not, great little local dive!

I also have to give a shout out to Christines in Vancouver just down from the Fort. Drive by and it looks like a little non-descript house but inside they are serving up really good breakfast and lunch, including a great burger. Also a little surprised no one has mentioned Helvetia Tavern, a great stop on Hwy 26 as you're headed for Seaside/Cannon Beach.

Not enough fat. Low fat burgers tend to be dry.

Yes you need a good 20% fat or so that the bison doesn't have. Mixing it with some bacon or ground pork does the trick.

I've ground my own burgers a few times. I've found the magic blend to be 1/3 sirloin, 1/3 brisket and 1/3 short rib. It's more work than it's usually worth though.

I feel that way about making burgers at home in general. Since it's just me and the wife, by the time you buy all the ingredients and toppings, it's more of a hassle than just going out. I love to fire up the grill/smoker and find I can make most dishes better than many restaurants, but a good burger I'm more than happy to pay for someone else to make.

I make a great knockoff of the banzai burger from Red Robin. Great marinade, tomato, lettuce, pineapple ring, a slice Tillamook cheddar cheese. I'll sometimes get creative and add a slice of red or white onion, or even a green pepper slice. I don't think I've ever added bacon. Not sure it needs it.

Gotta be grilled.

There is a butcher shop out on division and ...126th? 128th? on the south side of the road on division. I used it hit it up all the time when I lived on the East side. They had premade bacon infused burgers. They were some of the best i've ever cooked up. Pretty sure they added a couple other spices or what not, because i've never been able to replicate when i've tried. a bun and cheese tomato and few leaves of lettuce and. Shit. I think I cooked them up for a few people in here, but cant honestly remember. lol.

Anyhow, if you make it out there, pick up a ten pack. They were like 23 or 24 dollars I think? probably more now, but soooo worth it if your in the area.

I prefer to make my own burgers vs go out for them anyhow. I can toast my buns just right and everything.

Edit: That didnt come out right......

Their burger was too big and I never thought I'd say this but they gave out too much french fries. I pigged out on the frech fries but found the hamburger to be less desirable.

Do you throw a fit if someone doesn’t trim the crust off your PB&J’s?

SuperDeluxe, followed by Killer Burger.

I think it used to be more popular, but perhaps the new options in the area have taken business away.

They used to be cash only, not sure if that’s still the case - but they were cash only long after most everywhere accepted electronic payment.

Well they are still there at least, so they must be getting enough business. I figure they likely own the property rather than rent it; which may have something to do with why they are still there.

Favorite is my house.
Five Guys has great french fries.
Well, of course my grilled bacon cheese burgers are the best!

Five Guys fries are the worst I have ever had. Limp, greezy, I can actually squeeze them and grease drips out. Horrible. And that report comes from eating their fries at 3 different locations.

I've still yet to go there.

Always the rule of thumb, though, wherever you eat that has a deep fryer: Try to go during off hours.

I ate their fries about 8 or 10 years ago.
Also, I'm old and need my ration of grease. How do you think I keep this boyish figure.

I have eaten 5 times at 3 diff Five Guys. The meat was tasteless, the bun disintegrated and the fries limpy/greasy.

I think people like it due to their ambiance. Most people relate good ambiance to good food. But their food is terrible.

Grease is one of the 4 basic groups.

But there's good grease and bad grease...
