Roake's is more known for their dogs. Are their burgers any good?

Shake shack is better than In N Out

It's also more expensive across the board and not fast food. Shake Shack is more in line with 5 Guys than In N Out. Part of the reason I think people hate InNOut is that it's been hyped up too much and people think they are getting a gourmet burger, when in fact it's just a fast food burger, even if it's a really good one at that.

GREAT grease joint and love their burgers! In my younger days it was walk 18 holes at Colwood or Broadmor and then go to Roakes for the Nordius Maximus! Now I'll settle for the Farmer John or Little John but still worth the trek, just remember they are cash only!

No, In-N-Out is just not good (at least in Oregon) . Every other fast food chain is better. Except possibly A&W. But literally every other place is better. And they all have shorter lines... It's hilarious.

Maybe I'll try the burgers again. I tried once and wasn't impressed and just defaulted to chili dogs after that.

I really enjoyed my time living and working in Milwaukie/Oak Grove. Is Tebo's still around? Their seasonal fresh (local) strawberry shortcake was off the charts! Oh, and how many of you are old enough to remember super nacho's @ Megellan's, or even The Bomber?

I went camping with friends at Cascadia State Park a few summers ago, on the way there and on the way back home we stopped at the A&W in Sweet Home.

OMFG! It was like the A&W's from my childhood. That place still has the little carhop ordering menus for each car where they bring the food out on those metal trays that hook to your window. The quality was excellent. Seriously, totally worth a Sunday drive.

There's one in Stayton, OR too. As far as I know, those are the only A&W's that aren't attached to a gas station, KFC, or some other fast food place. Those all suck. Best burger around as far as I'm concerned. Get yourself a root beer freeze, it'll change your life.

Did their roller skate out to deliver your food?

Much like with your love of the Dennys bacon burger, we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Loved A&W as a kid, remember there being one up off 4th Plain in Vancouver, not far from the mall. Good burgers and of course you couldn't go there and NOT get a float!

Tebo's is no more, the owners sold the place a few years ago. My parents really liked it and I remember the steak sandwich being pretty good but of course everyone went there for the strawberry shortcake.

Sonic showed up here a couple of years ago. Folks here treat that place like royalty. I got sick on one of their breakfast burritos and haven't been back.

Not a fan of their food but the 1/2 price diet cherry limeade on the app is a great way to curb the summer heat!

Kissed my first girl inside the Bomber. Pumped gas for Art one summer while in hs.
And the Super Nacho's at Megellan's were great!
Lived in Oak Grove from 6th grade through HS.

Growing up in Gresham, I loved the burgers (longburger) at Dea's In & Out. Good milkshakes also.

Bomber had awesome Chicken Fried Steak. The wife and I used to go at least once a month.

I was really hoping they'd get the bomber put back together and keep going, but it seems Covid did them in...

I took my wife to Artic Circle for the first time in Utah last month on a work trip. Utah is still loaded with them. The one in Newberg was a staple of my childhood.

I've been to that one, as well. Took the shortcut from Wilsonville to Newberg.

FWIW, it's Arctic Circle. :)
