And you also weren't the one who originated the use of the term as a pejorative, so that's not really a relevant comment. My explanation is basic common sense.

Nope, because they're not obvious like with gay. I can make assumptions with the second one (black communities decided to take control over a word previously used against them), but that would just be speculation.
 
I just looked at Collins twitter account and I am more concerned that Zach is a huge Lebron fan. Huge!

He also doesn't like Hillary.

But he does like dogs. Little cute ones.

He also retweets WorldStar a lot.

What's amazing is that he's made 16,000 tweets. I only got to June of 2016 before my eyes glazed over.

Gay doesn't just mean one thing just like these other words. Us idiotic humans unfortunately give them power though and run with it. I'm just saying, homosexuality doesn't cross my mind when I use the word gay a certain way. Same with fag. Fag also means a few things originally. yeah okay I get the whole using a negative as a negative point but god damn

Cool story bro. Unfortunately, you don't get to decide what the word means to other people. If someone who is gay hears you using the word gay as an insult, they may be justifiably offended. Go figure.

Listened to Rip City Mornings for 20 minutes this AM. They had some McDonald's breakfast delivered this AM. One of the "hosts" asked twice if there was a sausage McMuffin. Twice he said the other host "liked sausage". Immediately thereafter, as they went to commercial, the host even acknowledged, "we are so getting fired."

These are supposedly "grown" men.

This shit is more common than you think.
 
Sure, Fag means bundle of sticks or Cigarette. You toss a fag on the fire or you smoke one. Why is it used to refer to gay people?

Because they used to burn gay people at the stake...
