Zimmmmmermanwatch!
Are there more 'protests' in LA tonight? I've been too busy BBQing and hanging with the family to know.

Zimmmmmermanwatch!
Statement from District Attorney George Gascón on #Zimmerman verdict:
"As the District Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco, I too feel the gravity of the Zimmerman verdict. I have spoken with many in the African American community, and they have expressed a deep feeling of abandonment by the justice system. Sadly, many feel that their lives and the lives of their children are seen as worthless. As your District Attorney, I want to re-affirm my office’s continued commitment to protecting every member of our community regardless of race, gender, religion, national origin or sexual orientation. It is my firm belief that by continuing to work together we will continue on the path of protecting the life and safety of every San Franciscan."

Deadly force cannot be used unless the victim is in fear of deadly force. This usually requires the presence of a weapon. However, sometimes a significant disparity in the strength or fighting ability between the parties is accepted as a substitute weapon.
George Gascon didn't have a comment on Bryan Stow, though. Maybe because he's from Santa Cruz. Or because he didn't kill the people who bashed/kicked his head into brain damage.
Just out of curiosity, but if someone was on top of you and was banging your head into the pavement, would you consider that deadly force?

There's no evidence that his head was smashed into the sidewalk in the way Zimmerman said. Examiners even said so.
He's a liar.

Governor Tom McCall also made it legal to shoot Californians attempting to come over the border.

Let me translate: Holder wants relief from the pressure to prosecute Zimmerman, so he's shifting to a topic that has nothing to do with Zimmerman but that low-information people think has to do with Zimmerman. (Zimmerman was pinned down before he decided his life was on the line, and he had no route of escape.)
No. It is ridiculously difficult to actually kill someone with your bare hands.
You are in error sir.
Maybe a highly trained assassin (navy seal, black belt, etc.) might be able to, but not your typical person. Certainly not a kid who just turned 17.

The truth is, in order to effectively kill an opponent you must first render them unconscious. Strong fundamentals in traditional combat sports such as boxing, wrestling, muay thai, and jiu-jitsu are the key to victory in a mortal confrontation. There is no magic bullet, the fighter with greater technique, speed, power, and athleticism will almost always come out on top.
The real knowledge lies in something that wrestlers and judo practitioners have known for ages. The hard ground beneath your feet is actually the most abundant and devastating weapon. The most effective and efficient way to kill a man with your bare hands is by firmly grasping the skull of an unconscious opponent, and slamming the back of their head into hard ground multiple times. Several forceful slams will likely result in catastrophic brain damage and immediate death.
The most efficient lethal victory would look something like this:
* The victor lands a powerful snapping punch to the tip of their opponents chin rendering them unconscious.
* The victor mounts their opponent’s chest, firmly grasps the skull, and delivers 2-3 powerful slams of their opponents head on to hard ground.
* If the confrontation is taking place on soft ground such as grass, the most effective method would be to simply apply a blood choke on an unconscious opponent for 2-3 minutes.

Congratulations. You just proved the self defense argument.

Since it was a stand your ground case, the florida law requires only fear of bodily harm not fear of death.
Now how exactly do you find a proof of the self defense argument in my previous post?
Zimmerman wasn't unconscious. If he was pinned so he couldn't struggle while the kid was both covering his nose and mouth so he couldn't breathe while simultaneously slamming his head against the ground, how could Zimmerman have gotten his gun out?
The 17 year old version of me would have kicked the ass of any version of me from 24 to my current age.
It was a stand your ground case? Really? Who argued that Zimmerman stood his ground?
Read the florida law and the jury instructions.
