Something I saw on the tweeters, but it's something we should all abide by.

#1 is a good place to start....this place would benefit greatly from its promotion and adherense
That's why I suggest the 'ignore' feature. When you feel someone excessively pushing your buttons to the point where you feel like exploding into a tirade, just put that person on ignore. Poof, problem solved.

I thought that was lame and uncalled for until recently.

It happens to all of us who are a bit out there. You can't make a point in a strong way without upsetting someone. You've got to be yourself as long as you periodically review your position in an honest way for correctness. A person's view on orrectness may very well evolve in a positive way with time and thoughtful self reviews.

Here's another thing I learned in group theory for business people. When you get a strong reaction questioning your view, you ought to review your position in a timely manner because you just might be wrong. Then comes the hard part, admitting you're error when you change your position.

#1 was obviously written by a stupid person.
#2 says you can't talk about another person's position, which is bullshit.
#3 is wrong, which proves this list is bogus.
#4 is nonsense because the fourth item in a list is always nonsense
#5 isn't valid because lots of bad arguments have been made since it was written.
#7 has never been proven to be a good rule, therefore it's wrong
#8 will give you herpes - I dare you to produce evidence to the contrary
#9 is a bad rule because my car is red
#10 is wrong, everyone knows that

Good that you posted this. Don't have a dash cam but if I do get one I just learned something.

If that happens, pretend you don't and act sorry and wait for the cops to get there and tell them you have it on video.

The perp ran away knowing he would go to jail..

I would have done that. Been all sympathetic till the cops got there to keep them there, then been like guess what I've got a camera. Took me a second to realize the other guy was part of the scam. Thats the worst faking of getting hit by a car I have ever seen.

Michael Cohen would be embarrassed by those guys. They bring shame on the industry.

I love good debates and respectfully discussing ideas and opinions and world views. I think the best rule is to do as little debating of “important” subjects on the internet...

debate is fine until it devolves into my dad can beat up your dad

Well yeah, my dad's been dead for 50 years. Died in a fishing accident on the lower Deschutes near Maupin.

mine is gone as well....but as children, that was the last resort threat back in the day

to be perfectly honest, IMHO, without offending anyone, but from a different perspective, and not condemning your
POV, i believe,edit- i KNOW, you are fuk'n wrong and need to see it my way.

well done.

ty, just funnin' w/it. really like the comandments, but we here in the blazers S2 forum prefer mere guidelines to rules, if you know what i mean.

These aren't really commandments - they're a list of well-know fallacies. They get covered in all Critical Thinking textbooks.

5 and 9 appear to be the same.

One is logical ("does not follow from" = "is not logically implied by") the other is causal (just because it comes after doesn't mean it's caused by).
Classic post hoc: "Buy my brilliant Tiger Repellent Spray and stay safe this Summer!"
"But there aren't any Tigers round here..."
"See how well it works!"

Non sequiturs actually include a lot of the other logical fallacies, because a logical fallacy is committed when you claim something follows logically from something else when it doesn't.
(Exception: begging the question is perfectly valid but still a fallacy. "I can prove that God exists because it says so in the Bible which is infallible because it is the written word of God")

As long as you see it my way I'm happy to see it your way otherwise eat shit and die.
