RT @KDonhoops: Amar’e Stoudemire will pay Hakeem Olajuwon $100,000 for two weeks of tutelage | Ball Don't Lie -

Paul Allen should reserve him for the whole damn summer to work with Leonard

damn thats big money

i know watching the blazers/nuggets sl game, masai ujiri mentioned that dream was training javalle this summer, and that dream was inquiring about faried as well, saying he would like to work with him

I wish the Dream would work out with Aldridge. I would love to see Aldridge using the "Dream Shake"

with the shape Amare's in, he knows he can't lean on his athleticism anymore and needs to learn some post moves.

I think the Blazers should offer to go 50/50 on paying for this for anybody on the team who is interested.

50/50?

Allen should reserve him for the entire summer and have him work exclusively with our bigs. Money extremely well spent

It's hard to say if he's actually a good teacher though.

Who cares? What is a couple hundred thousand to Paul Allen? It's a low-risk, high-reward move.

LMA would be unstoppable if he could pick up a few of The Dream's post moves.

Did Dwight Howard display any more of a post game after working with Hakeem? I don't recall seeing it.

Olajuwon's tutoring gig with Dwight Howard(notes) didn't result in any startling difference in Howard's offensive game last season. Dwight did establish a career high in points per game, and he did look more comfortable trying more complicated low-post maneuvers, but you could also chalk that up to a 25-year-old inching closer to his prime. Though Hakeem thinks it may have had to do with Orlando's offense. The Houston Rockets Hall of Famer also has worked with Kobe Bryant(notes), though we haven't seen many Dream Shakes emanating from the future Hall of Famer from Los Angeles. Chalk that up to Kobe knowing every move, ever.
This isn't to say that Olajuwon isn't making a difference. And LeBron, smartly, wants a piece.

When it comes to footwork, who would be the better coach: Hakeem or McHale?

As much as it hurts me to say this...... Maybe mchale, he did more with less!

My theory is that the players will take it more seriously if they have to put some of their own money out there.

It's a valid point, but I honestly think they would take it seriously when a legend walks into the room and says "I am here to help you, let's get started"

Why is this big news? Hakeem has said before that anyone who wants to come down and work with him is more then welcome to. The 100k is so Hakeem doesn't work with anyone else at the same time.
