There's a new story on the Duckterritory boards about Dominique Easley. I can't read it but if I were speculate it might have something to with Urban Meyer resigning there's an even better chance that Easly transfers now.

not sure about Easley. He sure is talented, but all that garbage coming out of his mouth from a Freshman Defensive Tackle... those diva antics shouldnt be coming out of a lineman.

but if anyone could handle s hot head it would be coach Kelly.

What is he like a Richie Incognito type?

No, he's a lot like Bair, not a run stopper per se, but a great bull rusher at the DT position. Heard he can fit more pounds on his frame easily. Extremely athletic and was the MVP of the Under Armour All American game last year.

Top performer

DL Dominique Easley (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) -- committed to Florida
Every year in Orlando, Fla., there seems to be one defensive lineman who stands out of the pack due to his great explosiveness and dominant play. In 2008, it was DaQuan Bowers (Clemson). In 2009 it was Gary Brown (Florida). And this year, it was Easley.

The New York product proved to be nearly impossible to block when lined up in a shade with a combination of great snap anticipation and quickness. Easley consistently showed that he was unblockable, especially when the lights came on during the game. Right off the bat, during the first series, he displayed his incredible explosiveness off the ball and continued to be a disruptive presence all day long. He did a real nice job when matched up one-on-one, using both his quickness and hands. In addition, he found ways to continue to be a handful even when double teamed. Despite lacking ideal size for a defensive tackle, Easley used his quickness to spin and split double teams.

Florida fans must be thrilled to add this Under Armour All-American, who earned Black Team MVP honors. Easley finished with four tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, two hurries and one forced fumble.

is he linked to the Ducks or are we just speculating?

if you are referring to Easley.. he decommitted from Penn St after a visit to Eugene, He was supposedly going to choose from Oregon or Miami at the Under Armour Bowl, and was considered a STRONG Oregon lean. Florida swooped in and offered him a scholarship and it was his dream school, so he just couldnt resist.

Hmmm so what's the rule on transferring? Can he play right away or does he have to wait a year?

has to sit out a year. I believe if a coach is fired he doesnt have to wait a year, which doesnt apply to this, I just wanted to throw that out there lol.

Easley was part of an incredibly highly rated 2010 Florida class with a lot of that talent being on the DL. 6 guys, 3 being 4*s and 3 being 5*

I don't think he's played as much as he'd like... stories of his discontent have been surfacing for a while now. He was reported to be very high on Oregon before his dream school Florida offered. If there is still mutual interest between the two I'd take that to mean that Kelly isn't that concerned potential character red flags.

If he's to transfer, I wouldn't be surprised to see DE choose somewhere closer to home.

Seems like that would be a Big East school.. Syracuse or Pitt?

Still wondering why Randall would take another ACT if he scored a 19.

Anybody have information as to why this would be?

And me a Raiders fan with Jack Tatum

I just love watching great defense..... I think it's more fun than a great offense, though offense can be pretty damn entertaining too. I think a sack and an interception are two of the most exciting things in football.

Christian French is supposed to announce today at 1PM PST. Speculation is his fav is Oregon but family is pulling for Notre Dame... now watch him choose Iowa

of note, Chip is supposed to have visited his home in the last 48 hours

I think that the QB of the team I support taking a knee, is the most exciting thing for me :devilwink:

After a lot of speculation I had of Mariota possible being moved to WR I highly doubt it now with the senior season he had. He might be better even better than Randall.

Thanks, MM. I know nothing about him except what you can read on scout or rivals.

He's big and fast, 6'6"/230 and plays TE/DE. Lots of room for more mass on his frame. He turned down Wisconsin, ND, Nebraska and others for Oregon.

He's tall and quick - 4.5/40. I've heard fans say he was projected as a TE and even WR in Oregon's spread, but nothing concrete. Wouldn't be surprised to see a kid with his size and speed move to LB either.

His measurements remind me of a former OLB Duck great, Scott Kozak, who had a nice NFL career.

Welcome to Oregon, Christian! :chestbump:

A lot of fans on the Iowa and ND boards are saying his hands are nothing special. It could be bitterness talking, but if so, he would make a great DE or OLB

DT Todd Barr is preparing to announce. People are saying he's a Cal lock but you never know.

I recall the same thing being said about a player named Dante Rosario.

the locals were saying the same thing before he declared for Oregon so there is probably some truth it. But while ND wanted him as a LB, Iowa did recruit him as a WR so... my own guess is that he could probably play DJ Davis's physical blocking receiver role pretty well but if his hands prove too faulty he could be switched to D like Dion Jordan.

Regardless, dude's athleticism jumps out during his tape.... he can really really run for someone 6'5 215. I also saw the video of him announcing and he seemed bright and humble and received a huge ovation on his announcement from his HS despite not declaring for the local school. Another one of rivals top 100 players comes on board (#96) just an awesome pickup

Man, if I were Chip I'd be using this month and our natty as a recruiting weapon of mass destruction.
