He's kinda unorthodox, is very competitive, has great court vision, and can't shoot.

Here are the scouting reports for both Wroten and Rondo from nbadraft.net

Wroten:
Strengths: Great size and strength for a point guard ... Excellent crossover, change of pace dribble, and first step make him near impossible to prevent from reaching the basket ... Finishes well in traffic, while being able to adjust his shot in the air ... His success grew as the season progressed as his finesse layups started to fall ... Always looking to attack and put pressure on the defense, while remaining a very willing passer ... Very good at making the simple pass to open teammates, and great at making the quick pass/lob to cutters, even before they realize they are open ... Active cutter towards the basket when off the ball ... Outstanding offensive rebounder ...When engaged, displays excellent lateral quickness and ball pressure on defense ... Reads passing lanes and anticipates very well out of help-side defense

Weaknesses: Greatly needs to improve spot up and off the dribble jump shot, as well as free throw shooting ... Needs to become a better ball protector and decision maker ... While he has a great feel for the game, added maturity will help in better situational decision making based on time and score ... Thrives more in an uptempo game at this point ... Needs to strengthen dribbling and finishing with right hand ... At times can play overconfident and try to do too much ...

Rondo:
Strengths: A lightning quick point guard with the ability to penetrate seemingliy at will. Has incredible body control and takes the ball to the basket and finishes exceptionally well for a PG. He has a scorers mentality, but also passes the ball well especially on the dribble drive. Owns great ball handling skills which become lethal combined with his quickness. Many people thought he was the best player on his high school team that included Josh Smith (drafted 17th by Atlanta Hawks in 2004). He has progressed into a solid shooter, that combined with his quickness has made him a very difficult player to defend.

Weaknesses: Still must develop a better basketball understanding. Could stand to put on some weight and add some muscle mass. His outside shot has become better but with improvement in this area, defenders will have to respect that facet of his game which will make it impossible to keep him from getting into the lane. Still must become more under control as he can become erratic at times. His defense still must improve. Must learn to be a complete point guard with the ability to dictate the tempo and get everyone involved.

I think Barnes is going to be one of the better players taken from this draft....I would not be unhappy at all if POR chose him...

What about Westbrook? Predraft he wasn't really seen as a good shooter, but was very explosive and had that long wingspan.

It's just my opinion. He could easily end up being the steal of the draft. I know he didn't fair well at all at the combine. He measured well though

Does it seem like Barnes floor is Deng? And a ceiling of _____?

I'm sure he will be a good shooter, and he is a good athlete, but what else do you think he will do in the NBA besides shoot? If he doesn't develop more of a handle he will need to be fed a lot.

Fair enough and I am not really saying you take him at 11, but I think the Blazers should take a look at him and if they like him position themselves to take him with an appropriate draft slot.

Barnes' floor is Martell Webster. And I think he's gonna end up pretty close to it.

Did you see how much he struggled without Marshall? Idk. He has all the tools (like Marty), but can't seem to put them all together when his team most needed him. Coming into NC last year, there were quite a few sites calling him the next Kobe, and he wasn't even close.

Huh? Is this a crack at me?
Not meant to really be a crack, just that you couldn't understand how anyone liked him previously, and why anyone would want him, and have now shifted to liking him a lot, and being bummed he wouldn't be there with our 6th pick.

How about beal with 4 in more vertical than kidd gilchrist. Beal was great h.s player & had to adjust his game at fla. 2 sr guards

Might be draft related

I didn't realize I was down on him before? Nor bummed that he wouldn't be there at 6? I always tried to say I was waiting for the measurements and combine on most players. Oh well

Sullinger was the absolute worst in the entire combine in both agility and sprint. I knew the guy was not very athletic, but that is bad.

His game is not built around agility and athleticism per se....He is a below the basket big man, in the paint, showed some capability to hit some outside shots this year, but his bread & butter is going to be in the paint, using his size and bulk and craftiness to score....a banger...

I do not have a problem with him skill wise, my concern about him is injury concerns\potential (back\one leg shorter than another) and weight issues.

I've defended him much of the way, but its disappointing to see the awful combine results. On the one hand, he'll be able to overpower PFs from day one, on the other, he posted pretty historically terrible agility and sprint numbers. He probably won't go to a fast break team, but how is he going to hedge on screens? Rotate in the paint? Guard face up PFs? Many compare him to Love, but Love actually put up pretty good athletic numbers for a PF.

I still like him but a lot of other guys really distinguished themselves while he was disappointing, even despite dropping the weight.
