Zombie 2012 NBA Draft

I have a feeling MKG is going to struggle.

But at #6 with my top prospect gone I'm warming up to the idea of Harrison Barnes. His game is better suited for the NBA. His mid-range game would complement Batum nicely and maybe even move Nic to the SG spot full-time.

I am as well! Move Nic to the 2 and Barnes at the 3........ that would look nice opening night.

I have a feeling MKG is going to struggle.

I get that feeling too. I think a lot of the same things were said about Jeff Green coming out of Georgetown. That he could do a lot of things well, but nothing great. Versatile. Good defender. Etc. I think top five is too high for a glue guy like that.

I'm also not sure Beal is worth a top five pick. I'd love to take him at 6, but I wouldn't deal both picks to take him top three. We need inside scoring or explosive scoring on the wing. I'd go Robinson or I'd keep our picks and take someone like Lillard.

MKG is the kind of player that won't show well in the individual workouts. He can't shoot....... his strengths are in the open court. He may fall.

He may. He's the kind of guy that could drop as far as 10th. If Paul Pierce can drop to 10, so can MKG.

Outside of Davis, I'm not sure the guy you get at #2 is any better than the guy you get at #6. MKG is very meh to me. Robinson would be my choice if I was going to trade up. Beal is just too similar to other guys that could be had later.

I think Robinson is going to be a pretty good pro (like a slightly better David West as his ceiling) but I agree with the other guys; there's just not a lot of super-star potential in this lottery ... it's deep with guys who can probably play, but It seems like a pretty flat "slope"

I think Robinson is going to be 6'10" the same way Kevin Love is: 6'7.75" w/o shoes | 6'9"-and change w/shoes

No way Robinson is 6'10'

While his point guard abilities are debatable, Lillard is a tremendous athlete with a wet jumpshot. He's a late bloomer who has a work ethic that many high profile prospects are lacking. Portland is said to be high on Lillard and could shore up their PG position for years to come with Lillard.
NBA Comparison: Jay Williams

I've been watching a ton of Lillard. I'm sold. Lillard at 6 and Perry Jones at 11 and I think it's a successful draft. Jones is a huge upside guy, but just last year he was consensus #1 by all mocks. He's got great size, can handle the rock (the Blazers need badly) and he can still fill out. I think the fact he was on a pretty stacked Baylor team that played more team oriented ball hurt his stock. But, he still had good #'s despite the flack he's gotten.

Watch that step back jumper at 2:43 and the crossover at 2:49. Those are NBA moves.

If Perry Jones can put it all together he can be special. He has star written all over him. Unfortunately, I could see him just as easily be a bust. I think he and Drummond are the 2 biggest gambles of the lottery.

But, he'll immediately give us length. Can't teach that.

There are times when he looks like KD/Gay.

There are nearly as many times when he looks like Luke Jackson.

I think there are going to be a few gems found around our 11th pick. Guys like Moultrie, Jones III, Jones, etc. Who have sick skills but have been labeled lazy, or having an attitude, etc. If a team can dig in and find what motivates them or whatever they could get a huge steal

Something to remember as we're all getting so excited about having picks #6 and #11. In a very good draft there may be ten solid players.
Exactly why we need two chances to get one of them right.

We likely all remember a 6'10" kid who slipped in the draft because people thought he had a bad attitude and questionable motor. Uncle Cliffy worked out pretty good for us. I can see some similarities with PJIII, although I think PJIII has more upside.

The Raptors are looking at wings and Moe Harkless is a darkhorse to be selected at #8.

I usually don't judge much off of highlight reels, but damn....Lillard is sick.

I too am sold on him being better than Marshall.

Still not sure if I'd take him over the crop of SGs that are all in that same boat: Rivers/Beal/Lamb/etc. I'm weary of that weak conference thing.
