I read it as him saying Lillard is a bait-and-switch pick. But maybe he meant that he's the catch and he's got them interested now.

He said it was just that he showed what he could do (bait) Now up to the team to take the bait (draft him)

True; I did get an e-mail from him asking for my Paypal password.
Ah, jeez. Is he stuck in Nigeria again? I swear I'm going to go broke helping that guy out. He better pay me back this time.

They said the same thing about Brandon Roy, not really but never judge a book by its cover. Clyde Drexler anyone?

I'd like to see Olshey pump up need to get guys that love to play basketball and compete day in and day out and then end up drafting the two guys that are known for their lack of effort.

Tony (Portland)

Best case scenario for blazers: Drummond at six and lillard at 11? If that where to happen, who do they go for in free agency?

Chad Ford (3:23 PM)

Yes. That's probably the best case scenario. Drummond is a risk, but at No. 6 he might be worth it. However, I don't think Lillard is on the board at 11. But if he's not someone between Dion Waiters, Jeremy Lamb or Austin Rivers will be.

Pip (PDX)

Do you think the Blazers will trade up, trade out, or use their picks?

Chad Ford (3:24 PM)

Yes.

Hahahahahaha

KC (Tulsa)

If the Hornets are looking to trade Pick 10 for a young veteran, who are some of the potential targets?

Chad Ford (3:38 PM)

Darren Collison, Eric Bledsoe, Evan Turner I've heard a lot. Ditto for Paul Millsap of the Jazz.

Chad Ford (3:38 PM)

By the way, I'm told the Blazers are looking at the same group of players at 11 if they decide to trade the pick.

Don't care for Collison or Bledsoe, but would LOVE Turner for 11.

Ya.

Bledsoe is just not worth that pick alone

Collison has been fairly solid until this year

Turner I would love to gamble on

Obviously Milsap as well

Contract factored this is how I'd rank that group:

#1: Evan Turner -- Though, a bit of a red flag that they'd give him up for the #11 pick considering he was the #2 pick just a few years ago.
#2: Eric Bledsoe -- Showed some flashes but overall he's been meh.
#3 Darren Collison -- bigtime meh
#4 Paul Milsap -- His contract + Nic Batum's demands + new CBA = No way.

help me understand why

He's a much better ball handler/creator than Wes is, in my opinion. He's a solid defender, often times covering opposing PGs similar to Batum. I think a combo of him and Batum at the 2 and 3 would be great, personally. It gives you two very versatile players, who can cover 1-3 easily. And, the added bonus of Turner being a decent playmaker. I think the flexibility they each provide on defense allows you to go less conventional, potentially, at PG, and not having to worry AS much about PG defense, if you got drafted like Marshall. He's a great rebounder at the 2(7.9 per 36).
He's also better than anything else at 11 in my opinion.

I'd do #6 for Turner in a heartbeat.

RR7 has a great description but did not mention his rebounding. He is obe of the best rebounding guards in the game.

turner is at age 24 an average player, if we are looking to add average players, then yes, lets go get him
