Just a little pick me up from a tough weekend, since we are talking D Line and gap crushers!

"Not a bit bashful, junior defensive end Byron Cowart (4-Star/Seffner, FL), may be defensive line head man Ron Aiken’s first commit in the class of 2015.

“Oregon has always been up there for me . . ..” said Cowart. “Oregon is my number one right now. [My mom and I] are trying to get up to Oregon to see it and check it out. If I don’t go before [my senior season], I hope I can go to [Nike’s] The Opening and then we’ll visit Oregon after that.”

With room to grow, Cowart stands an athletic 6-foot-3, 255 lbs. and could easily push three bills once under the direction of strength and conditioning guru Jim Radcliffe.

“Oregon likes conditioning, playing fast, they are always so in shape,” said Cowart. “I’m looking for coaches to push me, make me better and make me fundamentally sound. They rotate a lot of defensive lineman so you can stay fresh all game long.”

“I see myself as a player that could have a big impact at Oregon,” said Cowart. “I like to think I’m fundamentally sound, but I’m always trying to get better. I’m focused on my season right now, but I want to get up to Oregon, it just seems like it would be a great fit for me. I know I could get to the next level at Oregon.”

commenting on it, a common misconception about The Opening is that kids will be able to visit West Coast schools around the event. My understanding is that if they do visit a school during a paid for trip, then they have to pay their way for the entire trip or it's a recruiting violation for the school. Thats the plane flight, the hotels, everything.

Is Alfonso Hampton becoming a viable option again? This kid is a GAP EATER for sure!

5* 2015 DT Jacob Daniels commit to Washington.

Why. I understand Stanford but Washington just lost 4 straight.

Adoree unofficialed to USC while skipping his Oregon one. He may visit for OSU, but at this point I feel he is a heavy long shot.

With the new dead period, not seeing many big names jump out. We'll see how we hear Baker sans-mom visit went.

247 seems to think McGraw almost a lock but with oregon putting out more and more DB feelers see Ihenacho officialling... I think he may package with Dupree to UCLA.

Pessimisitic view has Dixon being our highest ranked commit of the last batch. Most optimistic would be JuJu, Baker, Dixon then some others.

I'm not sold on McGraw, I think we may be continuing to search because he seems like a Vanderdoes type of ego.... For a 3 star he sure bumps his gums like a 5. UCLA may very quickly turn into the dirtiest team in the Pac-12 with the type of character guys they're bringing in, in handfuls.

He fell for Tosh's BS. Frankly, the type of kid Tosh relates best with are those I really wouldn't want on the Ducks. He attracted prima donnas at Cal, and seems to be doing the same at UW. Funny thing is, he and Sark may not even make it to 2015.

UCLA, according to the announcers, forced Price from the game after two straigh plays where they cheap shot him.

 Sans means without right? I just read that she made the trip and loved it. Rivals quoted Budda as rating the trip a 10

Adam Gorney has relayed that Dixon is going to be moving way up in the next round of their ratings. Juju recently sited Oregon in his top two with Bama but many speculate that the hometown school (USC) may be in the mix depending on the coaching hire

UCLA is getting the feel of how they orchestrated the Canes back in the early 80's. Dirty, ego driven and outspoken. USC can't afford to be trumped on their turf, so their hire will be surgical. It has to be! Just imagine if Budda and McGraw committed to UCLA to take care of their seconday along with Jack at the LB and Vanderdoes and McCarthy on the line? That D would be better than USC hands down! Mora has a play with Budda because of Jack and high school, and I sense McGraw is all about the image.

Let's just hope we grab Budda and break up that nightmare before it begins. I think Budda , Springs the Robinsons with Seisay could be an amazing backfield.

Jalen Brown has enrolled for winter term, so no waiting around until Feb to see if he stays a Duck. If the coaching staff wanted to, this could open another slot for the 2014 class as Jalen could be officially added to the 2013 class.

Stomp? Ya think we're coy doggin a few recruits like Hampton so other schools wont attack our finds? I get that feeling about a couple of them.

I will only be surprised if Oregon doesn't land a couple more D-Lineman. By NCAA rules, schools can't talk about specific recruits until signing day. The kids don't have similar restrictions but of course they only talk about their recruitment if they choose to. We aren't being relayed much info about DT types, but I expect several kids will be brought in following the end of the regular season and the cupboards will again be full.

This class of HS kids doesn't feature many elite DT types on the West coast so it's not surprising that Oregon hasn't landed one. I expect they'll dip into the JC ranks at least one more time. It just occurred to me that when David Moa visited a month ago, he relayed that Oregon was recruiting him as a DT and ran a series of medical tests on him to project how he'll fill out. It was said that those tests would take about a month to come back...

More big time verbals to follow, or so I'm hearing.

FWIW, Brock Huard today basically said Baker is a Duck, and that Sark has lost him. I'm not sure if Huard has inside sources, but he was treating it as a matter of fact, and the Baker would be competing for starting safety next fall in Eugene.

I'm gonna nickname him Corky.

3 star, Glenn Ihenacho commits to oregon.

Little confused, but possible that maybe McGraw is part of a UCLA package. I suppose I can't say it means we're out with JuJu because we are looking at him at WR.

Glenn is a HS teammate of another DB the Ducks are recruiting. I've no insider knowledge, just saying. Both of his older brothers are/were in the NFL. With their limited amount of OVs available, you know that the coaches are really interested in any kid they bring in. Go Nacho!
