Royce Freeman is a Duck. Power back in the LGB mold, and already has NFL size. Ran a 4.58 at The Opening, which is nice for a HS back of his size.

Didn't Eddie Lacy have similar size in HS like Freeman?

I approve of this commitment!!!!

If Royce has a similar year to his JR. season, he'll be a consensus 5* back. He's a lot like Tyner, except not as fast on the top end, yet playing against much better competition. His lower body is massive, just like LGB was.

So, on the ESPN link to Freeman I provided, can somebody tell me how a guy with an ESPN microphone and the head of "WeAreSC.com" is allowed to go up to USC targets and ask them about USC? How is this possible? Isn't that the definition of a booster?

I can see this happening:

Marshall-Tyner. 1-2 Punch.

Marshall-Tyner-Kani/Any TZR we get. Freeman can redshirt.

Tyner-Freeman/Kani-TZR.

Speaking of, how is our progress on the TZRs? Anyone got us high?

Tony James out of Florida is the main target. UO is the only school he's set an OV for this fall.

btw... here's Royce doing his thing last year. He's purported to be a high character guy who carries a 3.8 GPA

in a recent rivals interview, Adoree Jackson stated that Oregon is in his 12 favorites siting a love of their mix of top football and track programs. Prior he's said he wants to play offense and would seem to project at TZR

Splendid, although watch out for Florida, Michigan, Under Stanford Control, UCLA, and ND. Also, that list doesn't have Oregon on it ._.

the threat of sanctions going away and The Opening just happened... probably didn't hurt that Mahalak was the QB of Adoree's squad

look for his profile to be updated soon as this info was relayed within the past 24 hours via rivals main West Coast guy

Did he enjoy playing with Mahalak at all then?

Hopefully with Freeman committing, some of our targets will commit soon.

To shine some light on what sort of physical prospect the new RB commit Freeman is compare his SPARQ testing results at The Opening to rivals #1 ranked RB (who just happens to be in the SE where rivals is based).

Freeman - Leonard Fournette

height 5'11.5 - 6'1
weight 227 - 225
40 yard dash 4.58 - decided against releasing the results publicly... or, he didn't like his time
shuttle 4.07 (top time for RBs) - 4.30
medicine ball 39' - 38.5'
vertical jump 33.6" - 29.9"

so they're about the same sized freight train, but Freeman was clearly faster & more athletic. Of course combine type measurements aren't everything...

Seems like Tony James is the Primary Tazer target and he set up his official for Oregon. Ballage out of Colorado would possibly be a target if we don't get or drift away from James.

USC and A&M also going after Hampton now.

Tui is probably more of an edge DT. We need a NT behind Balducci. Hampton can be that guy.

Glad to hear about TJ. Ballage?

And here they come out of the woodwork

Tui is probably more of an edge DT.

based on what? Certainly he's already got the size of a recent stud Duck NT who is now in the NFL. Heck, Balducci was playing HS DE and listed 10 pounds lighter then Talia is when he gave his verbal. I don't know where Oregon projects TT

Louisiana WR & The Opening SPARQ testing champ Speedy Noil has listed Oregon in his top 5. Among other eye popping measurements, Speedy posted a 45.3" vertical jump

I fear distance may make Noil Unlikely. Hampton himself supposedly has joined in on this thread at 247, and there is a strong implication that he will barring any major sways most likely commit to Oregon with Offer/Visit.

Great to hear on Hampton. Grabbing him, Jelks, and Talia will settle our D-line for good.

Great to hear on Noil, we need to impress big time. Maybe promise him or being a TZR. Who are the other 4 in Noil's top 5?

6'6 JC WR Nick Kurtz will be visiting in early August

247 oregon peeps have now switched their Van Dyke prediction to Oregon and away from stanford. I'm assuming because a Stanford offer must not be coming.

If they are correct it would mean with Kurtz and van dyke we will be done at WR. Disappointing me somewhat in that it might hurt our position while going after players more likely to sign on signing day. Adoree, Noil, Rudolph.

Though we could pitch the TZR positoin to Adoree, Noil, along with current target James.

Though with Van Dyke there might be some concern that if Stanford does offer after he committed, he might flip his commit.

I don't think adding Alex Van Dyke and/or Kurtz to the class would have much of an effect on potentially signing the elite types you list. Oregon will almost definitely still have scholarships available so why would they pull the offer? I doubt that Noil, Adoree, etc would feel threatened by others in the class. Both Van Dyke & Kurtz are bigger possession types (Tuinei/Hawkins) and not home run threats and Oregon likes to mix and match those types on the field.

I think it's between us and BYU for Kurtz. That WR out of BYU that's getting draft buzz is being used as a recruiting pitch for him. AVD wouldn't hurt for a big WR.

Granted, we grab all 3, I would be happy to settle for TJ. But grabbing Noil and cock blocking LSU is just too rich

Texas athlete Davion Hall is said to be reopening up his recruitment after committing early to Baylor and has expressed interest in UO

a heads up that unless you like low grade gangster rap you may want to hit the mute on this youtube video

He's Baylor's best commit, they will do whatever it takes to keep him on board. But, having an athlete of that size is quite good. What position would he play?

Plattenberg considering official to Oregon, a little odd if we are full at DB and told Lockett such.
