I know last time we wasn't in the draft we stay pact not by getting in I think we stay pact this year due all our young players we got already. I think Neil try to due something in the free agent or by trade.

Jeanne with the identical whathaveyou that Crabbe has.

The orange whathaveyou - That's the astaxanthin pigment in the Crabbes protective curls.

On a side note - I was kinda hoping Crabbe would come into the play-offs with a de-shelled look. I wanted to see him go super-serious mode, without the ridiculous haircut.
But possibly, like Samson, if the orange protective curls go - so does the pincer power.

Is the back up PG spot really that important? Especially one that is shorter than the guards we already have? Sure we always need a back up PG, but it seems to be a lower priority than some of the other positions. I think Ulis is a player, but I just don' think he is a good fit with Dame or CJ.

This was brilliant work.

Ulis? Really? Isaiah Thomas is an anomaly. I'm not convinced a 5'7" shoot first PG is what we really need the most right now.

Thomas proved that if you have the intangibles height/length isn't everything. Ulis has all those qualities. On top of that - Ulis would be a backup. You don't draft a player of his size to be your PGOTF. There aren't many PG's in years to control tempo like Ulis did. He's exactly what our bench needs.

5'9 Thomas is all intangibles - he's even a better defener than the 6'3" Lillard.

How active do we wan't to be in this draft? With all the talent on this roster I feel we can be as involved as we want to. Going to be interesting to see how much of the FO's attention is focused on the draft, and how much of it is focused on FA.

Don't be a hermit; I have a soft shell spot for his cut.

Tyler Ulis measured a full 5'10" today at the combine. Seeing that he is not 5'8" this ought to raise his stock. My favorite target in this draft.

Ellenson helped his stock as well: 6'11.5" with a 7'2" wingspan. He has legit size.

Poeltl with the odd build: 7'0.25" without shoes | 7'3" wingspan -- 8'9.5" reach.

His reach is on par with SF's.

Value pick in the second round: Jarrod Uthoff

6'10" with a 7'0" wingspan

Legit outside shooter (38%) and was #11 in blockshots in the nation. Not bad for a SF/PF.

Brogdon is another value pick in the second.

Would be a solid pickup if Crabbe bolts.

The if Thon Maker fall to the 2nd round if I was portland I would make trade to pick him up. He as all ability to be very good NBA player. He might 1 or 2years away but I think he is worth gamble.

These players born in Africa notoriously lie about their age.

Maker is probably 26.

If Elgin Cook isn't drafted or if slips into the second round, I would mind taking a shot on him. Kid is going to contribute somewhere. Might as well be here. I saw Stotts at several UO games at Matt this year.

I'd pony up the CLE pick plus a future protected first for Ulis.

That's the price these days for a late lotto/mid-first.

Trade first round picks for another undersized guard who's gonna go in the mid to late first? No thanks

Bentil's projected to go in the late 2nd but the dude can really score the ball as well as shoot. I'd take a gamble there, I think he'd be a solid stretch 4. Taurean Prince is who I really want in the late 1st though. Dude could get minutes from day 1. Would be nice to have a 3 and D in case we let go of Harkless and/or trade Aminu.

I loved watching Cook at Oregon. I sat next to his Dad at the Elite 8 game this year. (Alvin Robertson) Having said that....I just don't see him as a NBA player. He is only 6'5" and plays like a PF. He has a decent mid range shot....but for the NBA at his size.......he needs to be an elite shooter or have better handles. He has neither. But I am all for giving him a shot.

Two likely low firsts? One of which we basically got for free. I think it'd be a smart move.
If you get a Ferrari for free it doesn't make that Ferrari less valuable than another one.

"Since I basically got this Ferrari for free I might as well trade it for a Pontiac" isn't sound logic.

And adding a 5'9 PG to an already undersized backcourt isn't sound logic either.

Everyone wants an Payron, Cook, or Sabonis.

Bias at its finest.

I doubt Cook will even be drafted. So I think inviting him to camp won't cause a big issue. Payton Jr. and Sabonis I could really care less about. But, your right, no connection to the prospective player what-so-ever. Let's draft a 7 foot center from Greenland if we can find one. Just for the hell of it.
