When all is said and done, who will be considered the better player, Steph or Durant? Why?

BNM
Raw numbers wise and given the longevity and health, I say KD. But when you consider intangibles and impact to the game and team, it's Steph pretty easily. Steph's game resulted in a paradigm shift for the entire league. And the only reason why guys like Dame and Kemba don't get more pub for their games is because Steph did it first and did it better than anyone else can ever do. It's pretty analogous to MJ v Clyde.

It also depends on what KD does in free agency. The titles in GS did very little for his legacy I believe. He might have sidled up close to Lebron as the 1a in the league, but he isn't even the most valuable player on his own team. If KD leaves and wins a ring elsewhere or even gets close to one like Bron did in Cleveland, it might be a different story. Until he does, it's Steph for me.

Burn it down in DC. Austin Rivers is the voice of reason. lol

Why the hell is Brooks not fired yet. He has CLEARLY lost that team.

I can understand being a weak team but freaking 2-9 when you have two all stars in John Wall and Bradley Beal then Otto Porter and that lineup. Something is going on over there

  1. He’s guaranteed $21 million from an organization that has soared past the luxury tax despite its roster holes.
  2. He heads a revamped staff with only one longtime assistant experienced in taking over head coaching duties.
  3. Most of all, he works for an owner who may be willing to press the eject button on his NHL coaches but practices the patience of a monk when it comes to making changes to his basketball operations.

KD, because he is a very good defensive player. But Steph will be remembered as a bigger influence - we have seen players like KD before, but never seen anyone like Steph before.

So, this is you showing that Steph is leaps and bounds better than arguably the second-best shooter of all time?

We agree.
If by "leaps and bounds better" you mean "takes a whole helluva lot more", then sure.

Volume matters. Nash himself has wondered how he would do if he just shot more.
Sure. And I wonder how Curry would do if he didn't play on an all-star team.

My initial post was in response to the idea that we have never seen a player like Curry before. I think Curry is quite similar to Nash - a player we've seen before. Curry shoots more, Nash passes more. But there are more similarities than differences, IMO.

I do not think that we ever saw Nash shooting from the distance curry does and reliably. Sure, there is similarities, but curry really warps the defense by himself in a way Nash never did.

Nash has done a lot to distort the game with his passing and pace, but we have never seen anyone warping the defense by his shooting as Steph does

Never once in his career was Nash the primary scoring threat on his team. One year--when Amare was hurt--he was second on his team in FGA/game. Most years he was the 3rd or 4th option on offense. The difference between his role and Steph's is night and day.

Steph's significantly greater volume (and the greater defensive attention he receives as a result) makes his higher efficiency vastly more impressive. Nash was much, much more Stockton than Curry.

Anyone have any idea what Jokic said that was worth getting fined for? I can't seem to find anything.

Shot more while still maintaining equal or greater efficiency. Maybe not "leaps and bounds"...but still better.

You know Pat Connaughton looks like Vanilla Ice in your picture.

Not really:

Pat isn't nearly that douchey and Rob always wore his hat with the bill forward.

I get much more of a Jesse Pinkman vibe from Patty Baseball:

Lol I know gay people that don't give a shit about that....

He should still be fined for using an out of date expression.

Nikola Jokic Fined For Making Stupid Joke From 2012

"On the one hand, it’s healthy for a professional sports league to come down hard on even faintly homophobic remarks. On the other hand, if he’d just used the more-palatable “pause” to have some fun with his heterosexual fragility, he’d probably be in the clear. Slang percolates to non-native speakers more slowly, one imagines."
