Event 2018 NBA Draft

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Today is the day NO makes the moves we've all been waiting for! No more middle of the road for us! WE are finally taking that final step to a championship window. #trusttheolsheyprocess.

I don't believe it either. I just need something positive before we head into the draft. Go Blazers!

There is always a team that makes a big splash at deadline or draft. Why couldn't it be us for once? #InNeOWeTrust

We don't have the pieces for a big move. The summer of 16 continues to screw us over.

I had hopes for the last 3-4 years. Every trade deadline. Every draft. Every july 1st. For what? The Evan Turner and Meyers of the world. An Afflalo trade. But I still have hope. Why? NeO is a smart man and I know he will sometimes find a way to improve this team. He turned the Clippers into a contender. He sure can do the same with us... And I have hope again... To be sad in a few hours. That's the life we chose.
and the one we deserve!

I expect absolutely nothing
...and that's what you're going to get, but mostly because you have a very high bar on what
"something" is. Myself, if we just draft Okogie, and trade a future 2nd for Simons, I'd be
excited. But, yeah, that wouldn't move your needle. It's all good.

An interesting appeal for Okogie:

That video is a pretty intriguing argument for him playing some SF as well. At a 210 lbs at 6-4 1/2 w a 7-foot wingspan, 5.2% body fat index, 8-6 reach, he is slightly longer than someone like Harrison Barnes. (Same standing reach but OKogie has a slightly longer wing. )

Add a 42" vertical?

What must it be like to be a Sacramento fan, just waiting to see how they fuck up THIS year?

I guess it's a good thing there aren't any...

Dude is super active. Gets a lot of steals, rebounds (for his size) and gets to the line a lot. He is growing on me. Highlight vid here is nice (all highlight vids are nice but his is super nice): https://hoopshabit.com/2018/06/20/2018-nba-draft-josh-okogie-is-most-slept-on-in-draft-class/

I have I just forgot so I asked! If I see him dip the ball this weekend I'm gonna be on his ass!!!! Haha. Jk.

I just view it as a windup. Big dips are definitely bad but little baby ones are fine. Just my thoughts. It's an interesting discussion.

Go look at the video of me making my blindfolded free throw.

No dip. :smiley-hvala:

Some day I'll be able to tell my children I was there to witness it. And my children's children. It was glorious.

He turned the Clippers into a contender.

Olshey gets way too much credit for that. It was a group effort, not just him.

I see that mantra repeated only on this board, never in the national media or Clipper media. Because it's not true.

Something not considered in predicting how well these mocks perform is the player development aspect. Would Draymond or Dame be as good had they been drafted to a team to like ORL or SAC? Or had Kawhi not landed in San Antonio? Perhaps a bunch of these players have the requisite talent, but the coaching they get over their first few years makes their destiny.

Saw a Doncic comp to Brandon Roy. Sure wish we could get him.

I think it actually fits. Donic isn't a true PG in the NBA but is going to need the ball in his hands a lot to be at his best. So like Roy he needs a shooter paired with him and that shooter also needs to be able to guard quicker players.

Luka is taller and plays a bit better in transition. But he doesn't get the kind of separation that BRoy did. It's why I said he was like Joe Johnson.
