Collins is still young and still more of a project. His greatest strength is his defensive IQ and on other areas he still needs to grow, also maybe physically or in being more physical
He's a young project? He has good defensive IQ? He needs to get stronger?

Gee, we would've never known. Thanks for disclosing such inside information.

English isn't his first language, give him a break, coach.
I've never seen him struggle with sentence structure/grammar. Just find it funny that he sometimes tries to tell everybody what were already talking about, or obvious info about a player. Stuff like "Dame a good scorer" etc.

This is from May if you haven't seen it already:

The fact that he did that BEFORE he was exposed to professional weight-trainers and could afford a personal chef is amazing. He clearly has amazing force of will which gives me great hope that he can work on his current weaknesses (defense, for example) to become the PF we need. Best case scenario he can be like Draymond, who was also drafted way too low because of doubts about his ability to guard SFs and his size to play PFs.

I love when players are prematurely labeled as "projects"... He might be, he might not be we will find out soon.

I'm tired of the Zach Randolph comparisons. Zach never demonstrated the indomitable work ethic we've seen from Caleb. I'm taking it next level.

He's not Z-Bo. He's Karl Malone.

That's actually a really good best case scenario. He obviously needs to work on defense to even sniff Millsap's talent though.
Even if he becomes a prime Paul Millsap (not the washed up current version) on offense, and average on defense, he'll be great. I'm hoping Collins can become a Serge Ibaka type of player.

Lets not forget who Collins is now:

A 7'0 rim protector who has the lateral quickness to guard PFs, can shoot 3s and probably has some untapped passing ability. And he proved this against the best teams in the country during the tournament. In Summer League, he didn't have much space to work with because the guards were trash, and he didn't produce on the block because he that isn't who he is, and it's not who we need him to be. Sadly, a couple Summer League games, coupled with the fact that he's white, has caused some "fans" to be down on him.

This is a dude I could see playing 30min in a couple years while scoring 15pts on 50 FG% and 37 3pt% with top notch rim protection. He has that ability.

Perimeter defense
Interior defense can help improve our interior defense. It's easier to hound the ball and take away shots from the perimeter if you know you have legit help inside. Without legit help inside, you're stuck trying to not only take away perimeter shots but also having to make sure you don't get beat. It's easier to do the first if you know that the possibility of getting beat isn't that threatening.

Most people labeled LMA a project, which never made any sense to me. He had all the skills and physical tools to be very good right away. Same goes for Collins. Lacking bulk doesn't confine someone to "project" status. That should be reserved for lack of skills. Bulk comes naturally at that age, unless your name is Shawn Bradley or Manute Bol.
