If we made an aggressive offer for gasoline he would already be a blazer. We probably inquired that’s it and offered garbage
deals more often than not don't happen that quickly...there are more considerations in a trade for Gasol than just Gasol's contract ….they have to make it work both ways...

Could be smoke and mirrors...Olshey starts the rumor so other teams rush to sign Gasol when the wing player he really wants is up for grabs so that team can clear space for Gasol......this wouldn't surprise me at all.

yeah sure...that's because the market for a 34 year old, often-injured traditional C in a league dominated by perimeter players can be spiked up to red-hot by a weird rumor

(not trying to pick a fight man but that's a real stretch)

With how much better we look when Nurk is on the court it wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted another guy with a similar skill set off the bench. What makes it hard to believe is we have nothing to offer

Why can’t we just snag Mirotic and call it a deadline, it’s a little unbeleivable that there are guys out there who would start for us and are available but we are concentrating on bench peices that would most likely cost more to acquire. I’m not buying it.

when it comes to a trade rumor people love to jump to conclusions..when all we have is one piece of the puzzle. nobody knows the specifics....nobody knows which Blazer players are involved in the trade if any

To me in this deal Nurk is untouchable...that's the starting point. Gasol has to be what Pau is to Lamarcus….a backup

If we are really going after Gasol, which I HIGHLY doubt, Nards has to be included. He would never see the court with Nurk and Gas here.

I just read this which says Gasol is not the primary target from Portland but two other Grizzlies are
The real market for members of the Grizzlies, league sources told Sporting News, is in other players on the roster, especially power forward JaMychal Green and guard Garrett Temple. Several teams this week have expressed interest in one or both players, including Portland and Charlotte.

That’s more like Neil.

not in my view..but a lot depends on what you give up to get him...Memphis is looking for picks and rookies
I'd trade for Marc if it was

ET + Meyers + Swainagain
for
Gasol + Rabb

There's a reason for that. If you do any sort of investigation on which players could make sense, and account for their salaries -> you immediately come to the conclusion that it's asinine to go after Gasol as a primary target.

Neil will trade Evan Turner and Jusuf Nurkic for Marc Gasal.
STOPPPPP! He isn't trading Nurk. If he's trying to trade for Gasol, it's to be a super quality backup to Nurk, and help strengthen the bench.

There's a reason for that.
if you have the info there's a reason for it....as it stands here it's all speculation...nobody knows the contractual or financial specifics or what players will be moved...we just know how much Gasol gets and how old he is...everything else at this point is fill in the blanks

I was obviously joking and we already discussed the rumor of those two last week.
I don't even come close to reading all the threads or posts here....so if you've already discussed it...it wasn't with me and I sure missed it. Read it on another site today for the first time

He'd be a great edition to the bench - but he is 34, and if he gives up Zach for this....

I'm totally sure Gasol would love to go to a team where he'll play 18 minutes a game coming off the bench. That sounds thrilling!

where does the 18 minute limit kick in? he's not Zach, Caleb or Meyers.....Nurk picks up fouls in groups....I don't see that court time is as important as production during time on the court...we need paint scoring beyond Nurk and Jake

Here’s what I don’t understand.

We’ve heard for years now that Olshey desires to get that “third star” to go with Dame and CJ. The reality is, we don’t have the assets to land one, and we really haven’t had them in years.

Lottery pick(s)? Negative

Cap space? Nope

Big expirings? Naw

Young assets? Not really

So instead of wasting everyone’s time, why doesn’t he just focus on players that ARE obtainable, and could actually help? If we compiled a list of all the realistic suggestions people on this board have made the last two years, that would’ve improved the roster, we’d have a good laugh.

We need more talent. We need more balance. We don’t need to acquire a superstar to accomplish either.

What I’m trying to say is get NIKOLA MIROTIC.
