When has Kyler actually been correct? He strikes me as a click bait “insider” with no credible reliably from reading his work over the last few years... I would love it if Portland was aggressive and actually successful but history with Olshey as the blazers gm hasn’t added up to having the balls to make a major move when it could help.

now, you're just grasping at straws, to sick with the metaphor

I've already explained the reason for the quote I posted and it was based upon the specific discussion here, not the made-up bullshit you tried to twist out of what was actually said

yeah, I think you're on the right track because there's just no upside in discussing anything with him
Of course. Better to ignore those who have different opinions. Good luck

This is so true. Kyler has never been right about anything...he seems like a guy agents use to create rumors/smoke screens

I’ve thought about this all day and come to this conclusion.

Trade anything they want except Dame. Gamble on next year that guys make their way here for a title run with Dame/AD.

If he leaves you blow it completely up and start the “process”(what a lot have been asking for anyway)

Having a season and a half with 2 all nba players is worth the gamble. Worst case we take 3-5 years to rebuild, so what? We aren’t winning a championship with the current roster anyway.

You hadn't already come to that conclusion?

How many pages till there is an actual trade

How the fuck does AD play another game for them? They gonna just send him home?

It's funny how Laker fans say it's "petty".

I heard many of those idiots say it was petty for Portland to boo Aldridge for leaving. Then they booed Paul George for not leaving OKC to go there.

Worst fan base in the league.

So who exactly does Neil have to report to or ask about trades taking on more future money and what if any limitations do you think he has on him now that Paul is gone.

Apparently it's business as usual. It might even be easier because Jody doesn't give her basketball input like Paul did. McGowan is still in charge and I think the both answer to Bert Kolde.

My best guess is that Olshey is free to trade but isn't free to add much or anything to our total cap number since we are currently over the tax line. I would also assume that they don't want to take on a ton of money to where they were way above the line next year either.

My favorite part of all this is I have whoever I’m “disputing” with on mute so I cant read any of the non sense nor do I care to at alllll lolol.
But but but you'll miss out on all the killer burns followed by emojis:smiley-crazy:

Ok here’s my conspiracy theory of the day.

Leaks out of Portland almost never happen under Olshey. But there are exceptions. Two years ago stuff started leaking about Okafor and Portland.(It didn’t come from Olsheys boy Woj either.) My theory is that was done on purpose to get Denver to add more to their offer.

Just for the sake of this theory, I’m going to assume the Gasol thing was actually fed to Kyler (who btw is an obvious shill for agents and front offices) rather than something he made up.

Gasol is the only other major big on the market. So, I submit that our “interest” in him was leaked to maintain some sort of leverage in discussions for our real target, AD. If you think about it, if Portland was actually willing to put CJ on the table, they realistically leap near the front of the line of teams for the Pelicans to do business with. And if New Orleans is motivated to move Davis before the deadline, there may not be anyone in front of them.

Just sayin hehehehe

Olshey seems to like doing favors for agents and other GM's. Maybe he simply allowed Memphis to use our name to drive the price up for Gasol for a similar favor down the road.

For the record, things like this are why I never put much stock in transactions or free agent meetings that don't actually result in anything.

Edit: I hope your theory is right though!

Also, if I didn’t know any better, I would think we are showcasing CJ. Dame and Nurk get rested so CJ can ball out. And lucky us, he’s had arguably his two most efficient games without one of them.

I don’t actually believe my theory, since I don’t trust that Kyler didn’t just make it up.

CJ has been ridiculously efficient all month tho. His shooting splits this month are back to where they've been the last few years and he's clearly climbed out of his mini shooting slump. It hasn't just been a few games. 21-4-3 on 47% FG, 41% from 3 is really good for our third guy.

Sidenote: Olshey tried to trade up for Porzingis. Not sure we have what it takes to get him.

CJ, Zach and Chief for KP, Hardaway, and Lee? Would screw us for this season (unless KP comes back healthy and effective), and put us way into the tax next year, but maybe...?

Sounds like Porzingis to Dallas for Smith

I'd hope they get a lot more than that. KP's value should be significantly higher. If that's the best piece they get, can we yell at Olshey for not making a better offer?

Jordan, Wes and Smith for Lee, Hardaway and Porzingis. New York looking for cap space this summer. This is the rumor on ESPN LA
