I don't see nothing else out that going to make us better at this stage of the deadline.

Gortat being waived -- I wonder if the Blazers will be interested -- i am not saying i want him but at this point another big who can do something in the paint would be a plus

go back and find where it was I criticized Olshey for not trading for Mirotic after the trade was announced. If you can, then your point is good. if you can't, then it isn't

I was criticizing the notion that Portland didn't have expiring contracts sufficient for the deal, or the draft assets sufficient for the deal. They had both

I've haven't wanted Mirotic approaching this trade deadline. After the trade for Hood, I can see the logic of a Harkless + a 1st for Mirotic but I was ambivalent about it

as for Aminu and Curry. I question if either will be back next year, especially Aminu. Portland will be way too close to the tax threshold and they have to re-sign Layman. I think he'll be the priority. A PF rotation of Mirotic + Zach...is it better than Aminu + Zach? Worse? I think acting like it's some big downgrade is loopy

The Blazers had two expirings, neither of whom do they want to trade and who are arguably worth more than Mirotic. They certainly can re-sign Chief if they want, using Bird rights. Re-signing Curry would take some salary cutting so the full MLE is available, but the more important point is that the Blazers need him as much or more than Mirotic for this year's playoff push. There are a lot of reasons to bash Olshey, but I don't see this Mirotic deal being one of them.

I think you are missing his point.

Eric Walden from a Utah paper --

All the Blazers to be traded for cash considerations --- LOL

Nobody want's to Deal with the Blazers and our overpaid players, that's the reality.

“Maybe we were too protective of our assets”

Trades a couple seconds and two guys that are now on the street.

Cool!!

We are going to waste Dame's prime. He is the best player we've had in decades and we're going to piss away his career with these mediocre rosters.

Evan Turner and a 1st for Trevor Ariza, or Demarre Carroll, or Robin Lopez, or Thad Young, or Jeremy Lin.

I'm literally going down the list of expirings on teams that would actually want a first.

Please just get this fucker off the team.

Assets that people on this forum were pumping up like they were rotation players

How long until there's a source that says, "Portland was working on a major deal up until the deadline, thought they had a deal, but it fell apart at the last-minute due to the other team re-considering, and the players wanted to keep things together, so this is our team going forward"?

Ya know, to cover NO's ass?

Maybe. Does Mirotic add enough over Chief to be worth the loss of Curry's 3 point shooting on the second unit?

Curry shoots a great percentage.....but not enough volume. He's making 1.4 threes per game. Not a big loss.

I think you are missing his point.

Apparently, because what he's said makes zero sense to me. You need ending contracts to make the deal. We have two, Curry and Chief. You also need picks. The Blazers' first rounder trumps what the Pelicans took. So, the Blazers could have offered Curry, Chief and a first rounder for Mirotic and likely made the deal happen. Which gets back to my original post: Would you make that trade? Seems ridiculous to me.

Don't worry guys. The answer to our problems is a dumpster-dive acquisition now that we have an open spot on the 15-man. "Dumpster dive" will be our needle-mover.

And the rest of his game is non-existent at best. Seriously don't get the love for Seth. Maybe if he came out with a cool Stumptown commercial he'd be okay.

bwahahah Lakers just traded away a young piece they were peddling for AD in a deal for Mike Muscala.

Who is in for a GoFundMe for paying for a billboard?

Do you guys think Neil knows how much we all distrust and hate him?

I know he doesn't care either way, but still. He can't be oblivious to the public opinion, right?

Hey even the Lakers are doing more the then Blazers --- Clippers are trading Mike Muscala to the Lakers for Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac via Woj
