You can say what you want about her but I believe her to be speaking from the heart. Not my heart, but her heart.

She’s a fraud. She’s a fake Dem. and this little antics of taking her ball and going home is pathetic.

I like how Democrats are the new resource-driven, interventionist Republicans. And their cheerleaders just jump right on board, no questions asked. No thinking necessary.

You guys need to discuss the thread topic instead of snipping at each other or I will close the thread.

You know just as well as I do the DNC cheated in 2016, it’s a fact that we shouldn’t even have to argue about.

And we weren't, until you just brought it up. You know that's not the subject here.

As to the points about the current debate criteria being arbitrary and not transparent, that’s more debatable. I think there’s some truth to it, although i don’t think it’s outright cheating as some would claim. I would guess it’s definitely by design though, and helps the DNC groom certain candidates they find desirable. That’s not something I can prove, however. The DNC doesn’t offer any reasoning behind their choice of acceptable polls. It’s just a guess based on the poor character of the DNC.

The criteria is arbitrary? What would a non-arbitrary criteria look like? There's no objective way to decide where the cutoff should be placed, but I think everyone would agree there should be some cutoff (otherwise both of us could get up there on the stage).

She's saying the DNC cheated against Bernie last time, and this time they are cheating in favor of Bernie. Maybe Bernie is establishment now?

The fact that "non-establishment" candidates like Bernie, Steyer, and Yang have made the debates, and "establishment" candidates like Bennet and Bullock and Hickenlooper and so on didn't make the cut makes the charge something less than convincing.

People who are against war like her because her main policy is anti intervention. Service members, veterans, etc. Candidates like Warren who voted for Trump’s insane military budget aren’t exactly credible in that area.

Is this not more recent?

I wasn't snipping at Marazul, I was turning his post into a porn haiku. I was adding culture and art to the thread.

Sometimes the greatest artists are recognized only after their death.

Oh yay, Tulsi Gabbard is going to grace us with her presence at the debate tomorrow. I’ve been such a wreck wondering if she would show up or keep taking her stand.

You need a strong military as a deterrent. The sticky part is making sure we elect those who use our military only when truly necessary. In other words the responsibility falls on us voters.

Again, this is why Trump was elected.

Because the swamp is full of criminals who misuse our military constantly, wasting money and lives and creating misery needlessly.

Fortunately, they (Dems and Reps alike) all stood up and exposed themselves with their fake outrage at Trump moving 30 or so US soldiers to safety from an onslaught of 15,000 Turkish soldiers.

Now be a man and vote them out of office.

That's a disappointment. She called it out for the election-rigging farce it was, but caves in so she can get a couple soundbites at the non-debate? I was hoping she'd stand fast and call for an investigation.

She appeared to be the only Dem candidate with balls, but I guess none of them have any. :dunno:

Instead of draining the swamp, Trump is enhancing the swamp enormously. How many have been indicted and how many have been convicted. And now, this Ukraine fiasco is rearing it's ugly head causing the Justice department and the FBI to get involved. This is going to get even more ugly.

A very small percentage goes to the things you mentioned. A very large percentage goes to defense contractors who price gouge. The strong defense argument is bunk. We have a military presence all over the world and are bombing people perpetually. That’s not defense, that’s offensive.

Literally every thing you mentioned could be mitigated simply by not have thousands upon thousands of our troops deployed all over the world at all times. That is the fallacy in your argument, you act like it is a given that we HAVE to have troops all over the world at all times. We don’t. Bring them home and use all that money at home. Bringing most of them home would allow better care for the few that needed to be overseas also.
I worked for two large defense contractors and there was virtually no price gouging at our two companies. The only exception was the failure at Boeing to do much producibility studies which we were paid to do but that was a drop in the bucket. Oh yeah, at Emerson Electric we were all directed to charge our time to the wrong work orders for the convenience of the managers. The money was spent from one area under military contract while the work was done at another area under military contract. Work was done and charged to the right department of the military but the particular areas were being fraudulently misrepresented. I was part of that although an unknowing part. My boss and his boss were involved and I heard after I left the company that they were eventually caught and fired.
Also, you should research how much of the budget is spent on salaries, you will get a real eye opener.

Looking forward to this debate tonight. I just want a unified front. Dems, too often try to stand apart in this kinda forum just to present differing view points. That will do nothing to convince independents in the general election. Hope they stay civil and focused on winning as a party.

Nancy has it right: https://www.newyorker.com/podcast/the-new-yorker-radio-hour/nancy-pelosi-timing-is-everything

While she has come around on impeachment, Pelosi still hews toward the center of the Party and resists some proposals from the progressive left, such as Medicare for All. “November matters,” Pelosi likes to tell colleagues running in the primaries. “What works in Michigan . . . [such as] economic security for America’s working families—that works in San Francisco. What works in San Francisco might not work in Michigan. So let’s go with the Michigan plan, because that’s where we have to win the Electoral College.”

Damn shame that they didn't have this mindset in 2016. Wish Nancy was like 20 yrs younger, she'd have won.

Guys like Beto and all are making noise by being ultra-liberal and individualistic, but this will only hurt the party in the long run. Win the general first, then start making changes collectively.
