Do you do have to speak without including nonsense or else others might label you as having nonsense.
Now, I only know of one Democrat who has labeled Gabbard as a Russian asset. Not saying other prominent Democrats haven't also said that but I am saying I haven't heard any. Please give some examples.
This argument was put to bed days ago. I really don’t care to bring it back up.

I hate to weigh in on petty political spats that have no real “right” answer but what the f**k. Some people have a need to spend their lives pissed off and I’m here to help.......I have to agree with @jonnyboy when he says, “I’m also conservative leaning in a forum full of people from Portland Oregon. And actually, withthat being said, I fare pretty well. You are one of about 3 people who respond to my every post negatively. I get along with most others pretty well.” Some people in this forum don’t like opinions that are contrary to their own and when it happens they get their panties in a very tight wad. They’d rather make snarky comments than debate in good faith. Others (ahem, Lanny) choose flight from the discussion when they find they can’t sell their point of view. They choose to dismiss the ones they disagree with as a “waste of their time” (or place far more value on their higher education than it is actually worth is these types of discussion) rather than ponder the idea they might be wrong once in awhile, or that perhaps a story has more than one side to it. And that is on both sides of The Great Divide”. It’s disgusting, no matter your political persuasion.

I guess I’m not in the aforementioned “good company”, because I for one am tired of what has become the “S2 (and “Democratic”) Narrative”; mainly that all liberals are good and all conservatives are bad. I consider myself a moderate. I loath Donald Trump and am utterly appalled by the things he has done, but I also think that AOC is just this side of an idiot. So sue me. @jonnyboy has stated numerous times that he does not like Trump and does not support him, but that he was elected president so he’s prepared to ride the term out. But no one seems to want to hear that. My own opinion is that impeachment is a waste of time with a Republican controlled Senate, and that the time and energy would be better spent on ousting Trump in the 2020 election. I think Jonny has alluded to that also. Some folks here are so livid over the shit heel in the White House they can’t think rationally, they attack all who don’t believe EXACTLY as they do and for that very reason it’s looking more and more like Trump will win again (God damnit!!!). I mean Jeezus, call me anything you like but challenge my intelligence and I’d vote for Trump purely out of spite. Anger does that to a person. (Note to Hillary Clinton).

I just wanted to say that I get along just fine with Jonny and his point of view so please don’t lump me in with a phantom majority. Personally I’d call @jonnyboy a realist at best and a pragmatist at worst. And I think too many of his detractors believe in the Tooth Fairy. The impeachment makes for great drama but it’s an utter waste of time that would be better spent preparing to put together a winning team before the next election.

And now the oh so brilliant SC2 political pundits can trash me as a MAGA hat wearing, immigrant hating, Trump lover......all because I don’t automatically exclude or dump on folks who don’t believe exactly as I do.....you’re welcome.
Well said. We all need to be more interested and respectful of other opinions even if they differ. And rather than teaching our kids and grandkids to take no prisoners and be very aggressive in opposition, we should show them that it's ok to discuss, disagree and still be cordial. If we cannot do this as a people we become like all the factions in the mideast that would rather excommunicate or even kill those that don't bow down to a certain belief. Ive always been critical of religion that shun people now its become those in the demo & repu party.

Lanny ol pal. I think something got lost in translation here.
I've got no problem listening to that. I just thought that UncleCliffy'sDaddy got a little overaggressive in his criticism of me and you appeared to me to support that approach.
My prefered method to dealing with conflict is to talk it out. If it can't be talked out then the ignore feature is the fallback alternative.
I've interacted with you many times over the years and would prefer the talk it out alternative.

Can I accept alternative politics? Sure, look how I admire Mags for all his good qualities regardless of our political differences. The same goes true with ABM.

In conclusion, my Christian belief is that the human soul is sacred even if I have conflict with the human. I continually try to improve on my acceptance of that fact. I might add that even the smallest attempt by someone to patch up a relationship with me goes a long way.

Lanny, Ive always appreciated your humbleness and willingness to treat people with respect that may differ from your viewpoints. Youv'e always done so with me when we don't agree and I with you.
Im sure if we would have crossed paths in the late 50's - 60's we would have had a blast. Even though I encroached on them Lake O girls and many times transported them to SE Portland for some real American Graffiti. I was a poacher for those high end conservative/republican raised chicks.

Back in those days, I was pretty much a wall flower. I didn't really open up until I was 19 and in the Army and got into a shaving cream fight with a buddy from Chicago who owned a new red corvette. That opened up a transformation.

Pot meet kettle. My “criticism” was in response to your less than reasonable comment to Jonny (something you’ve done to others, including me). Whether you want to admit it or not, when you reach conversational impasse you become passive/aggressive and cut off all dialogue in a way that demeans the person on the other end of the conversation. I have no problem with disagreements so long as the tone remains civil. But once the other party becomes dismissive and less than respectful, then all bets are off......

Dear God, please end this pissing contest. Okay? We don't agree on this so let's just drop it.
This is what's known as an impasse.
You'd have better luck with your discussions if you approached them a little better, in my opinion.
Oh God, I hope I'm not poking a hornets' nest here.

No need to read slowly...I can read you, ...like a comic book.
I gotta thank you for your comeback. I was going to find a meme from Pee Wee's Big Adventure to post and clicked on a Wikipedia page about the movie. I did not know that Phil Hartman was a co-writer of the script.

Phil was a comic genius. A fucking legend.

No hornets nest. Just my thanks for confirming my assertions.......

Wow are you really that unselfaware?

I’m not saying AOC is a POS. Far from it. I think her intentions are good but very, very unrealistic for a country this big, diverse and divided. And yes, right now it could very easily be argued that the Democrats have the high “moral” ground. The best I can say about AOC is that someone has to start somewhere to try and make things better for all. And she has chosen to be one of those persons. But her approach is such that it will wear thin quickly. And it’s tough to effect change when you have been voted out of office because your aspirations are so lofty that you end up achieving nothing but voter fatigue.....

Good take. But I can not but think how awful the world would be if she did get her way. All the way.
Like diesel being no longer available. Dang, I would always have to go to sea on the out going tide. With no diesel to buck the in coming tidal current which is much safer.
The list here could get longer that anyone wants to read.

Im so confused how this post was turned into a “pissing contest”... Can someone explain it for me...?

I nominate this for post of the week.

There wouldn't be any smart phones or televisions or forced air heating or balanced diets or intraschool sports or personal transportation or travel vacations or financial prosperity or home ownership or restaurants or professional sports or anything else man has created since he learned how to start a fire.
