No Zach Lavine now possibly, in health and safety protocol

Wow.

I don't understand why the IOC says the Olympics can't happen next summer because the Winter Olympics are already scheduled.

Yeah, this is my beef with it too. In the past both olympics happened in same year. Olympics isn’t known for social distance. I feel bad for Japan and one of the biggest sponsors Toyota pulled out.

They aren't allowing fans in the Olympic village. Instead of being a huge money maker for Japan and the host cities it will probably end up costing them so much money because the country, its cities and businesses... basically in the years leading up to it all infrastructure builds up for the Olympics knowing that the tourism that comes with the Olympics will bring in billions of dollars to pay off the investment but not this time. Fucking sucks.

Crazy that a cancellation is still on the table. They should have just postponed it another year a long time ago.

Well, yes, Japan PM talked about it year ago. Exactly about how China and WHO fucked Japan. He called them Chinese health organization or smth like that.

So weird to hear a certain player is from somewhere in the US. Even though they're on another countries team. I know, Becky Hammon played on the Russian team.

On a side note, these people are easily the most polite/nice people I’ve ever been around…….BUT they all laugh at me when I try to speak Japanese.
It's not you speaking Japanese they are laughing at John...trust me!

Where are you hearing cancellation? There are already games going on sir.

It was reported on the news yesterday (not sure if it was the Tokyo mayor or head of the Japanese committee) that cancellation is still on the table, with the rising number of positives in the Olympic Village.

Didn't the IOC president just say like a week ago that athletes are at zero risk in the Olympic Village? He's well qualified for a future career with the CDC or WHO.

So I wasn't imagining it!

Taking place July 23rd through August 8th, the Olympic Games will be streamed for free on Peacock, with one exception: US men’s basketball live coverage will require a premium subscription to the service. (Peacock Premium costs $5 per month, while going ad-free costs $10 per month.) A spokesperson for Peacock told The Verge that US men’s basketball games prior to the final game will be available exclusively on streaming services, including on Peacock, before a later broadcast on NBC. All games will be available to stream on-demand on Peacock after they are televised.

What a crock of shit.

Tokyo Olympics 2021: Patty Mills, Australian Boomers, press conference (news.com.au)

Patty Mills will deal with his multi-million dollar NBA future after the Tokyo Olympics as the Australian Boomers’ hunt for a first-ever medal takes priority.

Speaking ahead of the opening ceremony where he’ll carry the flag alongside Cate Campbell, Mills made clear the millions he stands to make — after wrapping up his most recent four-year, $US48 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs — aren’t on his mind.

What is? The pain of Australia’s fourth place finishes at the 2016 Games in Rio and 2019 Basketball World Cup that have “left a mark” on the playing group.
Patty is a free agent.
