I’ve was telling people this offseason we didn’t do enough to put a solid team around Lillard.

I’ve was telling people this offseason we didn’t do enough to put a solid team around Lillard.

You were right. It's a start with Grant. A lot of work to do still. Need more shooters.

Embarrassing losses on consecutive nights.

Concerning things for me: We never seemed to seriously think we could win this game, even when we roared out to the 11-point lead. Never moved the ball, never competed, never seemed to have a plan. Also, we got shown up by Austin Reaves, Thomas Bryant and Wenyen Gabriel -- I'm sorry, that can't happen; maybe one of them can have a really good game against you, but multiple players that level looking like above-average players on the same night says more about how you play than how they do.

Of course, the typical -- missed layups, giving up five points in the first quarter because we didn't communicate and fumbled uncontested defensive rebounds out of bounds, there was the obligatory simple pass from Nurk to Ant that was thrown away from the post, and no floor balance, resulting in a pair of uncontested Laker layups early in the game because our forwards initiate the offense and we have no idea who's back in transition.

I'm worried that Ant's game is trending to be Montae Ellis v2.0. Just seems to me he really comes unglued against determined defenders. Might work when he's the third option, which he is on this team if everyone's healthy. Won't work if either Dame or Grant are out of the lineup.

Also, really starting to feel more and more that Nurk is an anchor on the ceiling of this team. I'm just not seeing where a player like him can be part of the foundation of a true contender. It's not the inconsistent play. It's the inconsistent effort. That crap's contagious. Wondering if a Nurk and either Hart or Justise or GPII for Turner/Buddy Hield trade of some sort might be worth exploring at the trade deadline.

Obviously, the longer GPII is injured, it makes me wonder what the logic was in signing him, but the more I see this team play, I'm not even sure where he fits when he can play and how he's going to make this team better. Seems like his money, role and eventual playing time could be utilized better. Looks to me like we have several players like him which makes one of them tradable.

On a night where 26 teams played (only 4 didn’t play), only 9 players had more assists than Ant tonight.

Trae Young: 14 assists
Nikola Jokic: 12 assists
3 players with 10 assists
4 players with 9 assists

This season was always meant to be a growing season with ups and downs, They preached that during the off-season. The team just got off to a crazy good start which raised expectations very quickly for some. and who knows, maybe once the team is fully healthy they'll start showing those early season signs again but my guess is there's going to be a lot of ups and downs.

Injuries are piling up..even guys playing tonight are dinged up. The only real positive to take from this game is that Winslow and Sharpe both found their jumpers after long droughts.

Good start to the game but these guys aren't maintaining the intensity necessary to make Chauncey ball work. I'll chalk it up to being shorthanded on a road b2b but still a game that I think we could have won if we sustained the energy that wins require.
When we were 9-3, our D was awesome, we won no matter who played, and you felt like we could play better. What. The Fuck. Happened?

But we were winning through injuries. Didn’t we beat some good team without Dame and Ant?
This last injury stretch we went from 8th in defense to 22nd in one week....that's what happened. We had our best defenders playing injured..Winslow had the flu and was kept away from the team on the plane on the road I read somewhere...Eubanks is playing with back spasms...several guys have ankle issues..two guys have hip problems...Sharpe had a fractured finger on his shooting hand.Ant has foot problems...etc

man lebron has lost so many steps defensively. prolly cuz he just doesn't care on that end anymore
31/8/7 in 30 minutes at the age of 38..... man I sure hope we have a 38 year old on our roster one day that plays defense as poorly as he does.
