I call fans fake if they don’t stick with “their team” in the good times and bad. What do YOU call them?
Watching every single minute of them on TV isn’t the be-all and end-all of “sticking with” a team or being a fan. That's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Fans that think others need to act a certain way or it means they're not as much of a fan have the intelligence of a toddler. They probably think post count on a stupid message board matters too. It doesn't.

Obviously someone's fandom isn't quantifiable but when people are talking about not watching again until next season and shit like that, for me... it comes off like they aren't quite as into this shit as I am. If they're saying that they have to take some games off because otherwise they're going to have a nervous breakdown then they're probably a bigger fan than I am but honestly when someone says they're giving up on a team that they call themselves a fan of, that makes them a different type of fan than I am.

I watch through the league pass. Tonight there was an alternative broadcast with Bill Walton in a Manningcast sort of role commenting on the game from his home with some stuffed shirt play by play guy. Bill was bananas going off in every direction only occasionally referencing the game. The three guests that each dropped by for a quarter or so were Dr J, Phil Knight & Adam Sandler. At halftime he played the drums and gave himself a bloody nose that bled throughout the 2nd half.

Alot of those people don't really mean it. They are just upset and saying things they don't mean.

I'm just going to say it again. I think Shae could start at SG and it would be an upgrade defensively and an unknown offensively, probably a little drop off on O but who knows, maybe the confidence it would give the young guy combined with the extra reps and we might be better on both ends of the court.

I hear you. Saying shit like that makes sense to me out of a fanatic's mouth and then they can't help themselves and watch the next game or after cooling down for a few days. All I was saying is if someone really can just turn their back on the team they are a different kind of fan.

Whatever makes you feel better. I'm sure you know best.

Right. But, I don't think most are really turning their backs. They are back the next game. But, yeah I hear where you are coming from.

well, in the last 2 games, Ant has scored 57 points, but had 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 turnovers. In the last 4 games he's averaging 22 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 3 turnovers. Those are the numbers of a 6th man. Somebody who comes off the bench and simply scores without much other responsibility

I fail to see how Chuncy experimenting some with the rotation is a bad idea. The most obvious experiment to try is Ant as 6th man, IMO

You can bring him off the bench but you really can't cut the guy's minutes because he's really good, just a bad fit with Dame. You just need to find the best trade for him that you can and pull the trigger. Same with Nurk except with Nurk it's a system thing, he's a great fit with Dame just not with Chauncey.

Well hate tell you but spurs been scoring on everyone lately there biggest problem been stopping people. This not surprised to me.

Pop just isn’t a very good coach. Esp on defense.

For the 99th time, Ant IS our 6th man. He just also starts. Like CJ was.

Do you really think there is any chance Billups would bring Ant off the bench with this roster? We could debate if it's a good idea untilt he cows come home, but there is a near 0% chance of it happening, so I put it in the same category as discussing how good of a duo Dame/Giannis would make in Portland.

Just like CJ, he holds Dame back while Dame holds him back even more. It's not a good match at all and needs fixed.

So @AldoTrapani the only thing you see when you look at Shae is Gerald Green??? That's what you said right?

I don't care how many losses you correctly predict because your takes are garbage.

Oh and is 34 points and 12 assists what we called washed these days?

Yea I think he’s Gerald Green. And I take back what I said about Dame. I was wrong

SNL skit?

Yeah, like Gerald Green but with a handle and a midrange jumper, and a step back from anywhere and a soft touch from three and who can take contact while in the air and finish with a lay up and rebounds really well and has amazing defensive footwork. So totally like Gerald Green because he can jump but way better than him at everything else and the dude is 19.

Ant isn't a PG, he's not a wing, he's not a 2-way player, he doesn't have length, he's a poor defender, and he's been an awkward match with Dame.

Portland is 3 games under .500 which I am absolutely certain is not where they were expecting to be. They have significantly under-performed and in a circumstance like that I'd expect a good coach to be willing to adjust and experiment. An obvious avenue for experiment is rotation

I think if they wanted to bring Anf off the bench, they would first need to find a good forward to trade for who could take Hart's place. Oh, I see, they would bring in Sharpe as a 2 and leave Hart as forward. I don't really think Sharpe is ready for that, he needs more experience on O and D.

Not sure i agree with any of the statements i put in bold.
Looks to me like they are meshing better and better all the time. A bunch of shots have not been falling. When they do fall this team blows teams away. Just need to get more consistent.
3 games under 500 at this point in the season is 2 games off my prediction. I'm betting they had themselves close to that? They also know they have the chance to turn this around and one solid move at the deadline might make that much much easier.
Significantly Underperformed i would assume is in some people's judgement but certainly not in mine. They need to work through ups and downs. Only recently have the players and Billups started to actually show some stress. I guess it matters on what you call "Significant". If they win the Lakers game (which we all know they could have done) are you having this conversation? If they beat both the Lakers and Sixers you most certainly are not having this conversation.
So two games is "significant" right now? Will two games be just as important in a week? Two weeks? April?

ok...sure

there may be some recency-bias ingrained in my assessment. Bit I also think, pretty clearly, none of the players or coaches are happy with the season so far

I could see them starting GP2 to try to improve the starting unit's defensive performance

Ant & Sharpe off the bench would really balance out the scoring.

Yay we won a game.
Not so 'yay', we gave up 127 points to the lousy Spurs on 52% shooting from the field and 48% from '3'.

It was fun to see Ant/Nas go 12-18 from the field and 5-6 from '3'. Growth of the young guys is so important for this franchise.

So you do think it could actually happen?

My point wasn't what would need to happen or what ways they could make the shift. My point was that with this roster, Ant will never come off the bench, no matter how logical people think it is, so going down the strategies and implications is a pointless exercise.

I'm all for kicking around ideas here, but only if they could happen.

So you do think it could actually happen?

No. We are more than halfway through the season and Chauncey hasn't shown an inclination to change to the starting lineups. Don't think he has even discussed that in post game conferences or anything.

Agreed. And I'd venture a guess that if Steve Kerr, Phil Jackson, and Greg Popovich were on the bench instead of Billups, Ant would still have a 99.99% chance at being the starter.

It's more than just a coaching thing, it's a contract, long term investment thing.
