The two points from the clearly wrong goal tend that we didn’t challenge sure look big now.
No. The 2 points in 2nd quarter don't count as much to the final score as a last 3 minute challenge that may never happen.

Tough loss, but I liked our fight without Dame. Big minutes from Keon. Showing, IMO, he's a legit rotation player in the NBA.

Chauncey and the organization raved about Keon’s improvement in the offseason and they weren’t lying. Just 9 months ago, he looked like he barely belonged in the NBA.

I like Hart. But on a contender he’s coming off the bench. He needs to look for his shot more.

He's so afraid or hesitant to shoot. I don't get it. He's good attacking the basket.

That double-dribble was costly (but he hit some big shots).

But damn, that three in the corner.... I wanted that. He hits it, I think we win.
I believe we actually stopped them after the call so all it cost us was about 10 seconds.

Jody never misses a game. I have no idea why ppl think she doesn’t care about the team
You could see her hanging on the edge of her seat hoping the team would win. She freaking cares about this team. Not just the investment in it. I know this much. I sat next to Phil Knight, Back when the Blazers were making their runs under Rick, with Clyde and Terry, and he couldn't give 2 shits about the Blazers. Never clapped once. He's a good man as far as philanthropy goes, but his love is for the U of O. Not the Blazers.

I still want him. He’s loyal to his state and would treat Blazers atleast the same. But I don’t mind Jody either. She cares. It’s telling at this point

It’s crazy how 3-4 hot shooting quarters have saved Ant from otherwise doodoo shooting splits. Right now 43.7% fg and 37.1% 3pt. Had you watched only 24/28 quarters and missed those other 4 quarters, you’d assume he was shooting more like 30% fg and 30% 3pt.

Tbh this is reminiscent of early career Dame.

Tbh this is reminiscent of early career Dame.

Dame has never been a great pure shooter. A scalding hot streak shooter...yeah; all time great clutch shooter...yeah. But as a pure shooter...meh. And he's never been strong in mid-range. CJ was always a better pure shooter than Dame. But Dame was/is a much better scorer and over-all shooter. it's very similar for Dame vs Ant. CJ and Ant both have a better career eFG% than Dame. But eFG% is a misleading stat

What Dame has consistently done is attack the paint and get to the FT line. For his career, 27.3% of Dame's shots have come at the rim (0-3'). CJ 16.5%; Ant 13.9%. Dame has averaged 6.2 FTA/game (well over 7 the last 6 seasons); CJ has averaged 2.6; Ant has averaged 1.4 (2.3 per 36). In other words, career-wise, Dame has scored 3.6 more points from the line than CJ, and 4.8 more points than Ant. That is absolutely huge in impact. Consider that Portland point differential is +3.4 this season. The last time Portland made the playoffs two years ago their differential was +1.8

scoring and shooting efficiency are not just about pure shooting rates. It can be distilled to points per shot. Dame has averaged 1.34 points/shot and in his last two healthy seasons he averaged 1.46. CJ has averaged 1.18; Ant has averaged 1.20

attacking the rim and getting to the FT line are two areas Ant really needs to improve on...significantly. Obviously, some of Ant's overall numbers will increase as he logs more minutes this season, but that doesn't have an impact on FT rate, TS%, and points/shot

2 or 3 obvious charges that were called block, the goaltending, the BS foul on Eubanks, the travel on Grant, and I'm sure I'm forgetting more. Refs cost us at least 10 points this game. Infuriating

The offensive charging calls are getting as inconsistent as they are in college. I realize they are bang-bang plays and are difficult to call but something needs to be done. If you run over a player then sure that is an OF. But these bullshit calls when the defender gets barely touched on one side (of their arm) are ridiculous. More non-calls are needed.

Overall the game was poorly officiated.

Yeah, I didn’t even think they called traveling anymore.
I have read they are calling more this season. Also the traveling call that involves palming or carrying the ball. I hope Lillard is taking note.

i just meant "reminiscent of Dame" as in the streakiness of shots. dame used to be cold as F in many games but then dropped in 3 or 4 threes in #dametime to come out with decent percentages. so many games like this.
