I don’t get worked up either way about this, I’m just trying to ignite conversation. I expect to sign no one every year and then if we do it’s a plus.

Brown and Payton are defo Billups types. Dunno what available wing fits that description tbh.

why is jake airing out our offer? who leaked that? does Payton's representation (same agent repping Dame) think he can get more than that?

Favor to an agent for information? It happens quite a bit.

Exactly. Agents trying to up the value of their clients possibly.

Payton is believed to have offers for the $6.4 million taxpayer mid-level on the table, though one of his known suitors — the Mavericks — spent their taxpayer mid-level to sign JaVale McGee to a three-year deal, wiping away one of the Warriors’ biggest Payton competitors. Others remain. Portland is considered the most serious current suitor, as first reported by Bleacher Report, stretching an offer north of $8 million. Several hours into free agency, the likelihood that Payton grabs one of those competing offers is increasing.

Yeah I think your right, no reason for the Blazers to leak it. Not a good sign either, Payton probably wants to go to a different city, or he wants the full $10million MLE.

Payton coming to portland for ~2 mil more than what he's getting in GS is a bit crazy in my mind. Especially without a finite role here.

Payton is an undersized one-trick pony. He can defend the guard positions well. Offensively there’s a lot to be desired. If the reports are true we’d be giving him 2 million more than any other offer.

Ugh.

He’s had one good year of decent play.

Huge fail if it happens. We have failed to add any kind of size to our already small roster.

And with free agency just about to end also...

Didn't you hear? We're into paying guys who've only had one good year big bucks.

I'm guessing he would have a role here. They aren't going to have 6 SGs.

Seems half our roster is shooting guards

Simons Hart Payton Sharpe Keon Didi

Meanwhile we have one starting forward and zero centers

my bigger worry with payton is projecting his impact in a system that isn't GS. draymond does so much for them to compensate for his teammates and he makes all his guys look better

here comes the dame announcement. don't get freaked out at the number

Exactly. I was going to say that earlier. The warriors make many average players look a lot better than they are.

I can think of a long list

Basically the modern Bulls. They made so many trash players look decent.
