How are we getting so many foul shots right now?

33 FTA to only 11 FTA against Detroit.

36 FTA to only -13 FTA for Memphis.

So in the last two games we have attempted 69 Free throws to only 24 from our opponents. That's insane.

Adam Silver rewarding us for trading Dame to a contender
or
Adam Silver trying to ensure we don't land in the lotto

This winning streak has been fun to watch.

It probably should be noted, the teams we've beat have a combined record of 4-14 (22.2%).
If we had lost to them, their combined record would be 7-11. Not nearly as bad. Strength of schedule stats make no sense early in season. If you beat teams, those teams have worse records and you’ve played an easy schedule. If you lose, those teams have better records and so you’ve played a difficult schedule.

Playoff seedings has nothing to do with strength of schedule

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a player in Shae’s position on the court close out like that to the corner *and* get the block. Hand in the face sure but a full rejection? That’s a rare gift.

Only player that can do that consistently would probably be Wemby right now.

I'm aware. Going winless against teams with a 38% winning percentage would also be less than impressive.

Back to my greater point: The close wins have been fun, we should enjoy them, but we should also take note of the level of competition they're against.

The defense is drastically better than last year. We rotate and force guys inside to the bigs. We also got wings who can supply interior help and still recover. Really like what I’m seeing, haven’t seen Blazer defense in a long time
Let’s reevaluate that “defense” in 18 games.

What do you see that has you pessimistic (more than the obvious reality that we aren't winnng 41 games this season)

by then teams will have scouted properly to possibly counteract some of the defense we've been doing.... remember the first like handful of games before shae got scouted he was destroying shit and then teams figured out his flaws.

unfortunately I didn’t have the opportunity to watch any of last season but I get your drift. And obviously we will lose to better teams that will bring down our numbers. But the defense doesn’t feel as bad as in years past. Maybe it’s just that we have way more length and quicker hands than before, in addition to being tougher physically than we’ve been in years. What I’m seeing in our games is good fundamental defense and disorganized YMCA pick up team offense. I think we can improve our offense; but I feel like our defense is better than any team we’ve had in the last five years or so, regardless of how well our offense is running.

it's definitely miles better than it has been thats for sure, but i am curious what happens to our defense when ant gets back, not really known as a defensive stalwart... maybe @THE HCP was hinting at...?
